The I dont need another car collection thread - Mazda Xedos 6

To quote myself from a few weeks ago,

I don't need another car, I don't want another car. The absolute last thing I need is another car

So here I am standing waiting for a bus on a Sunday morning en route to get another car

No breakfast pics as you all know what a slice of toast looks like

No mutt companion this time unfortunately. He's still at his minders after an overnighter last night whilst we were out so here's a library picture of what he will probably be doing this morning instead

currently waiting on the Elizabeth line train to get me into London

Its been a bit of a game changer for London, opening up many previously difficult parts of London to reach on the existing network

I'm only using it today to get to Kings cross and then head out north to a garden city of all places. Ive no idea what a garden city is but sounds very pleasant

Yes the ulez thing really does limit my choice.  I'm not sure how much a 1964 car would enjoy living on the road outside my house though

The original (Letchworth), then the new and improved Welwyn.

Probably a few more across the country too!

Yeah... sadly, that's a major factor in me not bidding on the cheap Cresta I posted in the ebay thread.  Seven miles from my house, and unlikely to sell for less than 100 times what I paid for one in 1977.

The guy that dreamed up the idea died in Welwyn Garden City - fun fact.
So, LEZ free, Welwyn = pezz = Fiat X19. No, hang on, dog, Two seats bad = Fiat Coupe, 5 cylinder with a missfire

St Pancras achieved but 45 mins early

So, on to the subject of the car

It's a make I've had before in the past but a model I haven't

Its seemingly only even failed an MOT on bulbs and tyres

The concern is that it's been off the road a fair while until a year or two ago but has seemingly only driven less than 100 miles since going back on the road so the trip home to SE London is the most it will have driven in a fair few years

Wish me luck

oh, and I've seen it , sat in it heard it running but not driven or being driven in it due to it not being taxed or insured. It is MOTd now though

nerves starting to kick in now. It's a long motorway journey home

I must have driven past your gaff as I very briefly did the 161 on my extraordinarily short time working out of Plumstead.

It had a reasonably long life but didn't sell massively

It has Motorsport pedigree

I reckon you’re fed up of projects and wanted a turn-key motor on the fleet, so you’ve tracked down and purchased the ex @cort16 BMW 320Si.
