Plenty of stuff still needs selling direct involving site visits.

I remember really liking this show when it was first on, just recently I was thinking of the couple who kept adjusting the thermostat in their car!

Just not photocopiers, or phone systems, or the usual shyte folks were pedalling back in the day. Even selling software in the 90s needed lots of travel. We had systems taken from the midlands to Sweden by van to set up for demonstrations. Now they can request a customised demo through the website, and view it.

So there's not much chance of me getting my old job back selling fax machines and phone systems? That's a shame as I quite fancied getting another Mk4 XR3i company car.

This is true.  The company I work for has at least one if not two travelling salesmen who attend meetings with clients to sell our equipment direct to them.  To be fair, it's highly complex emissions control equipment that needs an engineer to sell it to the client.

The focus on how important the car is has completely gone now though.  The travelling salesman drives a Tesla model S, whereas our sales director drives an absolutely filthy Suzuki Swift Sport.

Perhaps these photos will help you understand how things are filmed in moving cars

Sorry @Lord Sterling - I hot quote on the wrong post

Awesome pics there - what's the Yank 4x4, apart from extremely cool?  Interesting to see how all that was done before GoPros and the like were invented too.

I also spotted the Fiat Tempra station wagon in the background of pic two - my uncle had one of those when my two cousins were little, but since he sold his I have never seen another one in the flesh.
