I’m so glad for this development! When I first read about @fatharris thinking about scrapping it, I was thinking about how can I mount a cross-continent rescue mission to save the car.

Couldn’t be with better person to get it back on the road!

Great effort, looking forward to seeing the car recommissioned and reading all about it.

If memory serves only the auto 620s got the Honda engine, the rest were T series.  618 and 623 were Honda powered though.

T series was a lot more robust than the K series.  Other than leaking oil from the rocker cover gaskets they're a pretty reliable engine.

Nice to see this being saved. These were always a bit of a sleeper, never really seemed to be advertised or pushed. Shame, they're a great car.

Actually they all had the Honda F series engine (618,620,623) except the 620 Ti (T series) and 620 diesel.

Mine is a 620Si with the Honda engine.

Only reason being is because I don't really have the space for it at the moment but otherwise, upon further thought, it is quite a good idea because it could probably displace 2 cars on my "fleet" - the MG which is a toy and the Focus which does practical duties. I think this is capable enough of practical duties while remaining fun/interesting

Sod it, go big or go home. If I'm going to go to all this trouble saving it I might as well do things properly! I bought a pair of arch panels for a Honda Accord of the same era which are exactly the same shape and profile. Definitely well worth buying these as the complicated shape of that lower area would be an absolute nightmare to replicate otherwise. Since I have these I can take cuts off to repair the upper arches which have also suffered quite badly. 

Set of 4x Goodyear EfficientGrip tyres acquired, got a good deal on these having had maybe 500 miles of use based on the fact they still have at least 7-8mm of tread and no signs of wear. 2 of them are 2024 date code and the other 2 are 2021 I think.
