Identify your audience - try do make whatever you present relatable.

'Old cars your mum and dad had etc..."

Use pictures on a PowerPoint even with some bullet points - but don't read from the PowerPoint.

Keep it light - a couple of judicious jokes can work - be careful.

Talk from experience- use the "I think" people are interested in a point of view.

Photocopy the presentation in case the tech fails.

Keep exactly to time.

Give the talk a few dry runs...maybe record it then you can edit where it flags.

If you get time chill for an hour beforehand - don't just turn up.

Use keyword written prompts/notes to keep your talk flowing.

Don't read a speech.

Keep the visuals interesting - the bored can doze off.

Avoid this:

I've done quite a lot of talking in public - 800 was the most at a venue. It's fun. You'll be fine.

Also remember to finish with  'Simply The Best'

I love shit old cars, despite that if someone rocked up to an interview and did a presentation on them I'd probably file their CV in the cylindrical cabinet.

Or just dance it.. no words.

I wonder if Trump has ever seen the vid for that from the late 70s. Or understands what it's about.

There's bound to be shouts of 'more, more' so for an encore you could have up your sleeve 'the use of Landcrab and Sherpa doors throughout the world's motor industries'

Funnily enough, I'm not going to do that.

Range Rover is a tricky one, I’m pretty sure early 3 doors came in RB

The first ones certainly didn't - there was no brown available on the Suffix A Range Rovers

(I did hours and hours and days of research on them when I was finding one for my dad to buy)

Ah ok. I’m sure I’ve seen brown RRs, maybe they used a different, posher brown?

Seventeen years ago I started a new job which involved doing a lot of presenting, sometimes to a hostile audience. I am someone who hates to be centre of attention and was very uncomfortable with presenting.  We had some training and the real stand out point for me was presenting on something you had a good knowledge of, in the past I had been given a presentation and sent out to present it to customers, this was not good. We were told in the training to present on our hobbies and put some slides together. I was surprised how easy it is to present on something that interests you and also how easy it is to answer questions on a subject close to your heart.
As already said the presentation should just be a few bullet points and eye catching pictures, if it is something you know then you will be able to talk freely and answer questions easily. For my presentation as well as talking about running older cars I focussed mainly on the touring holidays I have done in the cars such as Cortina’s to Cortina, LeMans, Gibraltar etc. as these would have a wider appeal and better pictures than a car on your drive with a pool of oil underneath and the engine dangling off a crane. As others have said there may be some oddbods  on the panel who only own or worse lease new appliances so this needs to be taken into consideration.
