That’s an ex-taxi. And yes, they’re truly depressing. And the Octavia is close behind in the depression stakes.

We had those as company cars, base spec 1.6 TDI spaceback. I've driven a lot of cars in my life, some of them very leggy, some of them very very expensive. Never have I ever sat in a worse car seat than what Skoda Rapid offers. My back was aching after 10 kilometers. I needed to drive 350. I needed 2 days to recover after that. A then-colleague of mine thought I was being overdramatic.  He started complaining about terrible seats 15 minutes in and went straight to massage after we got back. Next time we asked for a Caddy instead and delayed the trip so we avoid Rapids.

I still don't understand how did they manage to make such a terrible seat in 21st century.

Truly woeful cars with the single redeeming quality being fuel consumption. Don't know if the higher-spec ones are any better. but I refuse to get into Rapid since.

Loved the one we had, but the rust… Jesus wept. Where they kept this one to stop it rusting?

The solid red ones I've seen and owned have all been surprisingly rot free - thicker/better paint than the other colours?

Scrapped mine ten years ago - 6 cyl pezz one - it had perm 4x4 rather than the switcheroo 4x2 in this one - OK tow cars if a bit light on the train weight. I think I'd plated most of the chassis behind the rear axle at some point and I finally just lost the mojo and hung up the welding mask. This one does have v.low mileage so maybe not that crispy underneath?

No. Solihull products.
Ser 2a, Ser 3, 2 door and 4 door RR 'Classics'.
Hung up the welding mask until a Ssanyong Musso GX220 came along as a stopgap. Bloody nice car to drive with MB 6 cyl pezz, auto box and the perm 4x4. Fugly to look at and it was a losing battle with chassis tin worm.

That's legal in Wales. 20 mph makes it safe.
