Princess VDP - "The taint of ostentation" - a sly dig at some competitor there.

You could say the 'taint of Austentstion' - as it did have an Austin lorry engine.

The Devon sold well in the USA  - the subsequent Somerset less so - lost some of that crisp styling along the way.

Rover product planning - make two cars virtually the same in the same market segment and keep both in production.  😂

Hillman Imps always seem so sad. While the 60's were grooving-on with the Mini there was this prim and sensible little car bought by the quiet folk. The "finest of" what "all"?

Vauxhalls very keenly priced for the era - they sold loads - now mostly gone as they did like to rust. But cheap and disposable at the time. Half the price of a 6-cylinder Daimler in roughly the same market segment for example.

Old ads tell us so much about the attitudes of the past - VDP "a lady amongst cars".😂

They can't have sold any in that yellow? They always make me think of gloomy 60's funerals with the rain dripping off the yew trees - or Bob Dylan at the Severn ferry crossing - mean, moody and magnificent in shades.

1966. Before the bridge opened. Seen behind the VDP.

No there'd be more bullshiting than on a famers compost heap.

Pulled more of the cave apart today and found these jammed in a gap before a wad of filler was inserted hence the crinkle.
