bangernomics Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Thought this may be of interest to some, whenever I come across an old newspaper I like to look at the car adverts and the like. Anyway here’s a few from the 1990 November 11th issue of the Sunday Express. Gzongenflatch In memory of Phil. MrGTI6, sutty2006, HillmanImp and 6 others 9
reb Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 I robbed this from my instagram because I don't know where the hard copy is Featured in a 2002ish copy of Mojo with The White Stripes on the cover. Cementing the idea that Volvos are the perfect car for a slightly washed up rock star. warch, lesapandre and bangernomics 3

bezzabsa Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 The 1.5diesel were flying machines, used to work at a VX dealer and loved driving them, faster than most things - even spotted a Gsi kitted one goosey and bangernomics 1 1
D.E Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 Sealink, 1976. warch, bangernomics, Datsuncog and 2 others 5

Soundwave Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 From a copy of Gardener's World magazine, April 1997. Seem to remember borrowing this magazine off my mum because it had a feature about frogs in it. And as a 10 year old, I really liked frogs. Should probably return it to her at some point, 27 years and two house moves is probably enough time to appreciate the five-page spread about garden amphibians. Wasn't there a Megane Classic this colour at FOTU recently? lesapandre, warch, bangernomics and 2 others 4 1

Conan Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 Definitely should take sometime to scan what I have properly but CBA. This is July 1980 IIRC. lesapandre, bangernomics and CaptainBoom 3

There's always a few for sale on Marketplace because in a tropical savanna climate they survived well despite relatively low in-period sales. Here's another I found already on my drive. bangernomics, ProgRocker, Tenmil Socket and 3 others 6
D.E Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 No scanner at hand atm, so pictures will have to do. A few from 1970s German magazines: The S-Class from Mercedes-Benz. In 1977 it was also impossible to build an even better automobile. And you know what, that might well be true. bangernomics, Shite Ron, sierraman and 2 others 5
D.E Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 And then there's this advertorial at the end of a booklet for learner drivers: It also prominently features Marinas in most pictures that depict traffic situations. Wouldn't surprise me if that isn't purely coincidental... GeordieInExile, The Old Bloke Next Door, bangernomics and 2 others 3 2

Lankytim Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 We’ve been decorating a couple of rooms in our 1920s home, including removing plaster from walls and finding screwed up newspaper used to plug holes etc I’ve lost the pics I took but one advert from the 50s featured the Morris Minor, another paper from 1970 advertised….the Morris Minor!
