He probably never did, just kept buying stuff to replace the stuff he couldn’t find and it all just accumulated🤣

As for that Gazelle estate, that HAS to be restored, run exactly as it is as a survivor that is rare as hen's teeth.

Edited for my preference!

He knew exactly where everything was and what it was. I'm not him though and he took the knowledge to the grave with him so it's now a treasure hunt!20240623_154339.jpg.48e1cfdca99ef5ced79ed52515e4e8f9.jpg

At some point in the future I fear I have a similar task ahead of me, with added joinery workshop stuff.

Good luck.

P.S. Is the calendar up for grabs? Asking for a friend, obvs.

Being in the motor trade my dad used to get saucy calendars in the 80's. He used to hand them out discreetly to male relatives at Xmas. My challenge was to find where he'd hid them before they were 'gifted'...

This is like my dad's double garage. When he retired he learned how to design and build stained glass windows, design and build furniture and did some painting as well so half the garage is a studio. It's absolutely full of (useful) stuff which hasn't been touched since he passed in 2023. It's going to be a monumental effort to clear it all out. Fortunately it's all organised and labelled as he very much needed to be that way.

I love it, my grandad was a autojumbler back in the 80s and 90s and we went to so many places like this, it’ll be sad when there’s none left.
Watching with interest re. The Singer that is just my kind of disgracefully chic

Sorry for your loss, but he must have really hated you to have to sort all that out.

Erm.......................can you show us the rest of the months on the calendar.................. asking for a friend ?

I'm off down there on Wednesday, I'll make sure I save the calender!

I was going to make a nice pair of Bristols joke earlier but it's obviously an aec and a Leyland leopard 😁

Sorry for your loss....is this is a service you offer? When I go a similar task will be required, maybe you could collect future clients?

No, my normal services involve oil and filters and a mot, this is a special favour

Sorry for your loss.

That looks just like my grandads did. Fitha_oui_si and I spent a fortnight at his old place trying to sort it out when it was time.

That's an R-1155 radio receiver, as fitted to most British bomber/transport aircraft in the 40s and 50s:

Not sure on the value of that one as it looks pretty distressed and is missing the faceplate and most of its controls. I'll do some research (ie, consult a friend who deals in this kind of stuff) as I may be able to give it a home. Have you any more photos please?

I cleared around it but I think it's holding the shelf up!

Not sure if you'd be able to identify them as such, but if there happened to be any Austin 7 bits (pre-Ruby), my Dad and brother are currently rebuilding one and seem to be on the look out for bits.

A hard task no doubt, but I'm sure your friend would really appreciate all your efforts in re-homing what you can.

The full-width grille in the shed pic looks like FB Victor.  Red Rapier just looks gorgeous!

It will be, Den's friend Christine had a FB for many years and there's still the remainder of a spares car in the yard.

Rapier was lovely! New owner arrived by train and drove it back to Surrey.
