I thought it did pretty well against the Merc considering. :shock:Maybe I wasn't the only one who shouted "NOOOOOOOOO!" at the telly when that happened though?

The datty was a minter, it was at a casting the day they filmed the fire scene. I did take a few pics, but it was dark and they didn't come out too well. So glad I didn't sell my 123 to em, they did ask.....

So no coments on the demise off the poor old datsun then

Yeah, I kinda did slip one into the 'anti-grump' thread...As I mentioned, it was almost balanced out by the stunner hidden in the hangar (Alpine?)

Maybe I wasn't the only one who shouted "NOOOOOOOOO!" at the telly when that happened though?

No, you weren't. Mrs_Duke gave me one of her classic 'WTF' looks at the time :D

I've not watched any of Ashes to Ashes, so I've missed out on the car action - but I have to say I quite enjoyed Life on Mars. Is it a 3 door cherry in gold?

Posted

Yes it was a 3 door cherry, but can't remember if it was gold or plain beige.

FFS, it took the sound engineers half the series to get the Quattro sounding like a 5-cylinder!

Posted

And? Our SWB minibus is a pinto but yet it drove off in History Boys sounding just like a DI....

I enjoyed that. I've been saying for years that Jap cars have no soul, now you know why!If they did a sequel set now, the devil would be in a Yaris probably. Can't believe Gene Hunt would have wanted a 190D. Gene in a diesel? Over my de.............

The luton? Yep, there was two vans but that git Keats kept standing in front of it. There was a green parcel van (the very reason we don't need Connie the conservatory) on the corner in the same scene....

Shite spotting aside I thought it was the least convincing "explanation" of things since Bobby Ewing came back in the shower,So ALL of the were in comas apart from Hunt the *unt who was killed as a young man, buried 2 inches deep next to a scarecrow wearing a police overcoat and his body was never found? The devil wears Burberry and Joe 90 glasses and the fight between good and evil lasts 8 weeks and takes place at a urinal????Who writes this shit??

They weren't in comas, they were all dead, killed in process of stopping criminals. Gene Hunt was killed in his first week of duty when he was only 22 so he created a kind of holding world/purgatory for police officers to enable them to fight crime until they could move on to heaven proper. Gene had forgotten he was dead until Alex showed him his grave and id card. The Railway Arms pub was the portal to heaven. That's why Gene Hunt said the last time he saw Sam Tyler he told him to go and get a pint. That meant he was sending him to heaven via the pub! Keats was working for the devil, who for some reason he called Dave when speaking to him on the phone! It's all explained here:http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-radio/ ... al-episode

Hmm I wasnt convinced by it, I LOVED the first two series, but thought this one was fairly lame.I was gutted when they said it was to be the last series but I think its probably right to leave it now, the ideas just weren't as strong this time round. :?

Realism or otherwise, I enjoyed it and I'm going to miss A2A a bit.As I never saw LOM, I think I might buy both series of that and then at some point over winter, settle down over a period of a week or four and start at the very beginning and watch the whole lot. LOM and then A2A again.

I really enjoyed and i'm quite disapointed It's all over but like Dave said i also think It's for the best now.I still think LOM was the best show i've ever watched, A2A could have never competed after that.

i enjoyed it least it gave me the remote for an hour a week (or she'd have it) shame there wont be another :x

Thanks, maybe ite me thats thick (ok no maybe about it) but I'd never have worked that out.Agree that LOM was so much better, probably because it was so different, with the second run of anything you kind of know what to expect really so it loses out every time, oh, and that Keeley hawes or whatever her name is really got on my nerves, simpering cow that she is!!

I loved it. Loved LoM as well. The first series of A2A I wasn't so sure about as Squeely Drawers irritated me, but it's improved with time. I'm kinda gutted there's no more Gene Hunt, but they finished it before it went shit.Hunt in a 190D would be so very wrong. He'd never drive a diesel.

Fire up the Merc! Oh and chuck some SVO while you are at it....

Was it a 190D 2.0 with an automatic box? Great for not getting out of its own way.
