GT spec. Fair enough there are plenty.

Diesel GT. Now you're getting more specific. Diesel TORK for towing (I'll be putting a tow bar on in due course).

2.0 Diesel GT. Even more specific. I've even viewed three 1.6TDI GTs all the same colour but all Motorpoint. Shower of wankers.

2.0 Diesel GT with auto climate. Now we're beginning to hunt unicorns. SE, Match and GT trim levels on the Mk7/7.5 come as standard with full manual HVAC controls. At this price point? Fuck right off.

Also it's genuine VW Approved Used so - 2 years VW warranty, 2 years breakdown assist, 5 days complimentary drive away insurance and £750 worth of repairs to anything that causes an MOT failure in the first two years.

Also being main dealer the guy went out his way to get stuff done. It's had a full major service before pick up (£450 worth inc two new tyres and some new wipers), new parcel shelf because the old one was a bit chewed (suspect dog) and the plates for the private reg were free. Brand new SD card for the nav too. He also said that it was a bit hard starting so if I have any bother with it in the first while then to email him and he'll arrange a new AGM battery.

Very very very much this. It's a special order colour, Tornado Red

Also, Teletubbytebay

As is usual, my collections are usually more interesting than the car itself.

Yup. This one is a special colour, Tornado Red. 3 of the 4 I have tested were all Tornado Red, the other one was just solid red.

Also, just landed at CHEZ_WOMAN_df2k

The guy I dealt with at VW was spot on and with it being a VW warranty, I can take it to any* VW dealer for work.

*They're all Arnold fucking Clark up here.

There's an  nearly identical car in Tornado Red for sale in Fort William on Autotrader.......

Strange seeing one that isn't 50 shades of Golf. I quite liked these when I was valeting them. Well bought, that man.

Reasons that one was turned down...

It wasn't there when I started looking.
It's a GTD as opposed to a GT. Harder suspension and bigger wheels. Yes it's considerably more powerful but I'm not looking for big power any more.
Those tartan seats.
Diamond cut wheels.
Automatic, not manual.
Full digital dash.
Private sale so no warranty. I wasn't specifically looking for VW Approved Used for the 2 year warranty but something rather than nothing is nice.

Having spent the night at CHEZ_WOMAN_df2k, I have now arrived home so collection officially ends.

To be fair it's a cracking looking car and that's one hell of a road trip to collect it.

Does the V in SVM stands for Vehicular now, seeing as the collective appears to be expanding its remit... 😂

I for many years ran a mixed Volvo/Vauxhall fleet but never a VW (though that in itself was a regret). David for many years ran a mixed Volvo/VW fleet.

But since 2012 and the founding of The SVM there has always been at least one Volvo 700 on each fleet, though all were better than mine 😂

Given the option of two identical cars, one local and one a good jaunt away... I'll take the jaunt thanks.

I had to try and top the V70's collection caper somehow.

Indeed. This is my third Golf. I've had a MK5 1.9TDI, a MK6, 2.0TDI GT and now a MK7.5 2.0TDI GT.

I've already got a big car in the 740 and a smol car in the 205. The Golf will do the bulk of the duties given it's ideal size, driveability, comfort, driving conveniences and fuel economy.

On that note, calculated fuel economy was 60.6mpg from Yeovil to CHEZ_WOMAN_df2k to SVM Towers to parent's house. The cruise was pegged at 71mph all the wy up the road except of course for lower limits.

I saw this earlier so had to find the Volvo collection, to bring myself to speed. Few points:

1. Sleeper trains ROCK.

2. Volvo V70 T6s ROCK

3. German cars that aren’t a boring shade of grey/silver/black ROCK.

Well bought. GT models with a reasonable spec are rare, and the late mk7 is probably the best golf to buy currently. Looks like the dealer took care of you well, too! I’m sure it will be reliable and a good driver too, also so you don’t have to take it to Uncle Arnie’s too frequently.
