NorthernMonkey Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 It’s been replaced by ‘BONUS10’ for 10% off. Not quite as good but still a bargain. somewhatfoolish 1
Soundwave Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Fedex managed to lose my parcel by delivering it to entirely the wrong address 5 streets away, thankfully the people there were honest and made sure I got the parcel in the end... but it's here now. All for less than £30, nice little restock for my lockup.
RoverFolkUs Posted October 29, 2023 Author Posted October 29, 2023 The same deal is back for anyone who missed it, using code "SPOOKY20" expires tomorrow eve...

That's strange as it works for me, I can't imagine it's account specific? Don't suppose you've already used the code to buy something else as I think it can only be used for one transaction, despite the fact you can order as many as you want, as long as it's one transaction?

Nope, haven't used it yet. Not sure whether its account/setting dependent, i.e. signed up for a newsletter.

It'll most likely be because my ebay account was originally registered in Germany. This has been causing all kinds of trouble in the past. SiC 1

JJ0063 Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 Sorry for my shit oil knowledge but to those clued up on this, is there a Mannol oil I could use in both our engines? 1.4 TDCI fiesta and 1.9 PD T5 Cheers

The £45 5w-30 should be fine in the fiesta, as long as it's not got a DPF which I don't think it will have? If it's got a DPF you need low ash

I’ve not even looked at the Fiesta to see if it’s got a DPF, as it’s a 62 plate I assumed it would have one. I only thought about servicing it as it’s going in for its MOT next week and I suddenly noticed mrs JJ has clocked up almost 17k in the last year so it’s massively due an oil change.

Actually, scrap my previous post The undisclosed website that provides data about autos (!) States 5w-30 longlife should be used in it. It's not like the earlier PD lumps that use the PD specific 5w-40. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303124417772? The one above (which is currently out of stock but was £55 down to about £45 with the coupon) states that it is PD friendly. And it's the longlife spec. Whilst it doesn't meet the Ford spec, being C3 I would happily use it in the Fiesta as well. Others may disagree but it will* be fine *No guarantees So yeah, I'd go with that, 20 litres should do 2 oil changes in the T5 and enough left over to do 2 in the Fiesta I wound have thought? And it's DPF friendly, in case the fiesta does have one JJ0063 1

Whatever it is, it will do the fiesta far better than what's been in there for 17k miles! And being longlife it will actually be designed to last that long. Upto 20k iirc, not that it should ever be left that long in my opinion but if it does accidentally go over it should limit the amount of harm possible beko1987 and JJ0063 1 1

Marshall2810 Posted November 26, 2023 Posted November 26, 2023 Great service from carousel. Ordered 3pm delivered 10.30am the following day, unbelievably quick and so cheap. The buybetter20 discount still working as just ordered more👌
Popsicle Posted November 26, 2023 Posted November 26, 2023 Just ordered another 20 litres of 5/30 507 spec vag oil, £44.39 = £11.10 for 5 litres, with my £5.88 Mann oil filter that is just £16.98 per oil service 😲. RoverFolkUs, Cavcraft and beko1987 3
holbeck Posted November 26, 2023 Posted November 26, 2023 Thanks for the tip. I just ordered 5 litres for £9.86! + an additional offer of 20% cashback through top cashback brought it down to £ 7.90. Unbleedybelievable.

When I ordered a whole load of Milwaukee tools, I had issues with it lost in the post. Anyway speaking to the customer support on the phone (iirc powertool mate) and she said the discount codes are actually funded by eBay. So when you buy something, the retailer gets the full amount on the order minus their fees. Then eBay effectively covers the difference from what they pay them versus what you pay. I imagine eBay do this to keep their platform relevant in the face of stiff competition from Amazon. Also presumably they make enough from fees usually to afford to do offers like this too. SiC Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 This is showing up as £12.49 delivered with the 15% discount box ticked: Mannol Energy 5W30 5L https://amzn.eu/d/9rZGzAM Premium (I think low saps for DPF vehicles) also not much difference in price: MANNOL Energy 5W30 C3 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil, 5 Litres https://amzn.eu/d/iuyiy9l Not prime delivered but still ridiculously cheap. Good enough for most 90s/00s vehicles out there.

However, I ordered last Sunday, the tracking number got uploaded last Monday and it still just says "waiting to receive item", and no response from the seller on ebay. Looking at their recent feedback there's a lot of "took 3 goes to get it delivered", "courier lost item, no response from seller" "had to get ebay to refund me and order again" which is a shame because I've used them a few times and it always turned up within 3 days via Evri previously. I ordered some last week on eBay and the status changed today to be out for delivery tomorrow🤞 CGSB 1
Volksy Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 I ordered 5 Litres of Mannol from amazon. They delivered 20 Litres, but still only charged me for 5. doug, wuvvum, horriblemercedes and 1 other 4

It arrived yesterday by Amazon Bollox - tracking shows label printed 5th January but actually sent out at the weekend -so 10 days. Last Mannol I ordered from Carousel was here next day and that was just before Xmas. Both shown as 48 hour delivery 🤷♂️ Bit grumpy but I guess I'll chalk it up to experience rather than get all medieval on the bad feedback doom and gloom thing.
