And the late, lamented Paxman Valenta engines that used to top and tail the IC125s.  Now they were real screamers (and even more than Mrs martybabes too)!

I think the "Flying Banana" still has Valenta power.

I like the cooling down noises cars make after a run & everywhere is quiet   -  the tink, tink DINK,  clink kuk,  as all the hot expanded bits cool & contract

The unmistakeable dawn chorus of a Fiesta 950 Pop starting from cold.

Ahh the classic skeleton wanking in a biscuit tin

'Humans are the only animals that kill their own kind.' No Roald Dahl, that's bollocks. I'm willing to believe in giants and granny-supersizing drugs, but sometimes he did go too far.

Aye, but no other species has invented nuclear power

I love the sound of my 504 most, its not just the engine, every noise it makes is like no other car and makes me feel good whenver i use it.

Good vid

Citroen SMs are nothing short of astonishing.

It's a Maser v6. The rest of the car is many times more amazing than the engine, but I agree - it does sound good.

Close your eyes and guess -

This... both whiney rear axle and Gardner engine.

If I were a rich man I'd do drive every mile in a Gardner engined Bristol bus.

Not the best sound, but you're 24 litres and 6 cylinders short:

Great, another wasted half hour looking at Russian trucks fording rivers etc...

Cavalier Mk3 SRi (130 engine) with a Powerflow exhaust and a K&N filter, being hammered in 3rd gear. Just open the windows and enjoy, there's no better sound.

And theres a bird driving it. What more could a man need?

Also, although not a car (but neither is a bus) a nicely tuned up Lambretta with a power pipe going full tilt is music to my ears. One day I shall own one.

And if it has to be from a car then any 2.9 Cologne from any of my much missed Sierras.

And their starter motors.

Aural Viagra for me.

I thought it could be narrowed down but I love loads of vehicle noises.A V8 of some sort always grabs my attention though and I like the whooshy roar that viscous fan equipped Volvo redblocks make. Speaking of, I like the turbo noise on mine and the ZF 4HP22 my first 740 had was delightfully melodious. As was the synchro whine on the Yaris that sounded like a supercharger.

I like those too. And the lovely noise the old Jag six makes.

Paxman Valenta powered 125s are sorely missed as listening to them screaming out of Waverly was an event in itself. See also the Cummins L10/ZF combo on Lothian Olympians.

There's loads more.

Another vote for the tvr v8 in the cerbera. And no its not a rover unit

For me it has to be the warning indicator for leaving your lights on in an 85 bluebird, sounds like your calling your butler, dingaling!
