What became of that scrappaged Chrysler Alpine that was in the same situation a few months back? There was a plot brewing to try to rescue all or most of it!

I only just read this, I thought the title was about a parts car somebody had bought. This is criminal, specially as it's got some AS history.....

So sad to see that Hunter go to the crusher. As Ian Dury once sang: "What a Waste!"

If anyone does get to strip this, get the front indicator units complete and ebay them as "works MK1 Escort Twin Cam indicators units" for mega coinage. Should pay for the rest of the bits

i loved the hunter ever since i was a nipper.... really sad that a car that solid is scrapped :(

aye ,it is a shame, anything interesting i have personally brought in for scrappage i have tried to save, fuego and vr6 i couldn't,the granada and sierra could, maybe big news on monday regarding another, but all will be revealed soon, this one is really gonna cost me though!

and how I wish I'd known about it :cry:

sorry wvm,the response i got from various adds, including the sierra forum was pretty non existant, hence why i never bothered with the blue j reg hatch.

the sierra got bangered along with the granny

was it worth the effort to save them?

ultimately no.

but may have some interesting news next week about a.n. other.

The Granada got bangered as well?!, That's a shame. I guess it is hard trying to find buyers. Is it harder because your in Scotland, Which is so far way for many people?.

A shame they both went to the track, but no one can say you didn't try. Am I right in saying the Sapphire is more popular for the oval than the hatchback?Im quite interested in this new one youre mentioning, I wonder what it could be.Also, in related scrappage news, for some weird reason all the scrappage cars in Basingstoke are being put outside the old Subaru/Isuzu dealers at the top of town, to await transporting to the scrapyard. So I get to see whats been traded in, nothing of interest really. A phase one AX, thats about it.

plenty would say i don't try.maxpower, the granada was for sale, here, retro rides, osf and ebay.hmm maybe i did try after all.if the next one happens it better be worth it,and if it doesn't, well at least my post count will go up!

Glad to see someone is trying to save the older stuff- dont give up fiat!!Oh and that merc 6.9!! Makes me weep!

It's amazing, as Fiat Daft and I have both discovered, how people suddenly go very, very quiet when you tell the world about a car that could be saved from the scheme. Until that point, every man and his dog will tell you it's a disgrace and that someone should save these cars, but when the opportunity arises, nothing. That's why I ended up sinking a frankly terrifying amount of money into the Bond. But then cars always cost money, so I'm still glad I did it. I'm hoping that karma is going to come my way at some point! In fact, it may do just that pretty soon...

Don't think that one is scrappage, If you look closely you'll see that it is very rusty. Also the stance means the air suspension has given up.
