Mercedes SL Pagoda.

I hesitate to question you as you are so knowledgeable, but are you sure? The door shut at the top of the door looks at a different angle?

The straight body line is the first give away that it is not a Triumph Tr. They have a hump at the end of the door.

Why I think it is a Mercedes is the rounded end of the rear wing, the shape of the wheel arch extension, the door handle and the mirror.

Oh I agree it's unlikely to be a TR, just not sure the SL is right either, from that pic. Don't know what else though.

Got a bigger version. RHD with poppers for a tonneau. It's from a set of publicity images shot in February 1984 (according to Shutterstock)
Location (according to me :-) ) is outside Broadcasting House, London - also on the steps of All Souls Church which is opposite the main doors to the Beeb

Using the blown up picture you can make out the edge of the soft top cover inside the car (next to curved red line) and the slight crease that is just aft of the door on the rear quarter (yellow oval).

Also here is a Pagoda SL door handle that is listed on Ebay

Yep, OK, I'll give you that, sorry for doubting you.

No problem. It's good to question if you are not sure.

You cannot be serious!

A footballist on a DD ban?  But they're all angels, how could that happen?  Someone must have framed him.
