Was at home today and heard some noises outside. There's been a lot of council work in the street, so I thought it was some workmen chucking roofing slates in a skip. I looked out though, and saw a blue LWB Mk6 parked over my dropped step, so I hared downstairs and out the front door. As I got round the front of the vans on the yard, I saw them about to load the rear roof section off one of the scrappers into the van!!WOTTHE FOOK!! That was my first words to them. Now I was on my own, but was soooo incensed trust me I didn't need any help! I told em in no uncertain terms to put it back. That and me SPARE COLOGNE THAT WAS ALREADY IN THE VAN As I stalked about being loud, they told me to take down the reg of the van if I wanted to, which told me that it probably wasn't registered to them. I then noticed the key was in the ignition, so I took it out as I called the Police! It was the only way I could stop them, they were two thieving bastards in their mid twenties, and I thought if they had legged it I was a Mk6 up on the deal. They didn't, and carried on arguing the toss that they had made some mistake (oooo yeeeeesss, what a mistake!) and kept yelling and swearing, which was handy as it was all recorded on the 999 call. To their credit, the police arrived quickly, and arrested them. It turns out the van is not taxed and on a SORN. Happy days.....

This is the second time we have had stuff nicked, the first time I couldn't get downstairs quick enough to catch them. This lot probably would have towed away the Mk1 scrapper as well if I had left them to it.

Very brave of you to nick the keys out of the ignition...you'd have thought that would have turned them nasty and a bit more desperate. Like someone else mentioned in the thread I hope you don't now get the problem of vengeance attacks and the like.

Make sure you drain al the diesel out before it gets towed away...... you wouldn't want it to cause a fire now, would you? Oh , and make sure you keep the spare wheel and radio front, and nick a main relay too............!!!

Fantastic. Just had a call from the police. Yes, at 10pm. They have told me they have released the two thieving scum without charge, as per the CPS instructions. Unbelievably the officer couldn't believe I was displeased by this. Oh, and they were aloud to drive off in their untaxed, sorn'd van.
