eddyramrod Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 I found myself driving up to Gaydon last year, or maybe the year before, on my way back from somewhere or other. Thought it would be a nice little interlude. Drove around until I found what I thought was a suitable parking slot. Approached the door. Saw the price of admission. Got the hell out of Dodge! We go to caravan shows at the NEC which cost around a tenner, and you end up buying something for a huge amount of money as well!

HMC Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 I remember when the current premises was launched as the “heritage motor centre” (hence my username) in about 1993. Its very much more of a broad church now with acquisitions such as the David hill collection, which is A Good Thing. A little bit of me is sorry about the 2003 sell off of some of the collection. Before then it was a bit of a shite lovers dream of various esoteric first and lasts. Last allegro VDP? Don’t sell it to a semi crippled pensioner have it wheeled off to gaydon. ETC. I guess that’s a bit harder to monetise. It’s a bit less niche now with Less of an emphasis on various automotive orphans- some do remain thankfully. chaseracer 1
RoadworkUK Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 I've sat in that Jag prototype (the one closest to the camera). Bit of a travesty that it wasn't taken to production. I'm still a bit cross that I didn't nick the pewter lighter.
Saabnut Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 The Saab owners club are holding the 2023 International meet there next year. I am involved in organising it and should be great (if I am not working!) lesapandre 1
