Great purchase with the camper, loving the Volvo write up too :) I think I’ll just stick with diesel for now… I don’t do a massive mileage to be fair!

Ya should have said - I'm not that far from where it was!

I did think that  but we were tight for time!

200k achieved. I have been using this almost daily and it's been great. It has a soft ride with chunky tyres so soaks up all of the cratered roads, the engine is smooth and runs on many % veg. Great van.

Aye maybe! It does settle at 70-80 while cruising.

They just float along in a very French way. The only reason I've never bought one is the roof is too high to take ladders on and off.

Really wish the Caddy floated along.  The ride is the single thing about it which bugs me the most.  It really is bloody harsh.

They have quite a harsh ride but I found my Caddy handled really well to make up for it.

That it does.  It's absolutely possible to forget there's a big box behind you.  Though the damping on the rear is so stiff it tends to skip around on even vaguely uneven surfaces.

I reckon the spring rates are fine, it could just do with slightly softer dampers.

Hey gang, I've had my time with this van sadly.

It is great but the faults have got on top of me, it pressurises coolant - no oil in the water, no water in the oil, doesn't overheat, I tested for combustion gases and if I did it correctly there are none present. All a bit odd but it'd drive anywhere if you kept topping it up with water.

Big exhaust blow but there is a new section without a particulate filter (yeah some 90s diesels had a primitive "cat") to go in its place.

I would really like for it to live on, I've put a fair bit of work into it and it is fundamentally a good van that needs the big faults fixed and a rolling resto I would say.

Message to discuss if you are interested, would like around £1000.

Mine did exactly the same, made 214k then started pressuring the coolant. Ripped the head off and put a recon one on as it worked out cheaper than having one skimmed and the seized injectors removed. The bores were near mint, cross hatching still plainly visible. Goes well now.

My hdi version did exactly the same but it was just a partially blocked rad in the end and really, really easy to replace on the Partner, albeit maybe a different design to this.

However mine also had A/C but was still a changed in the work carpark jobbie.

Looks a great van in a great colour.

I'm sure someone will give you a grand for it 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

Hey, it's stored at my friend's place away from home, I'm doing a block of nightshifts then going on holiday. Will have interior pics as soon as I can but not right now.

This is a shit interior shot I took when I last camped in it (May this year). It is not a coach built camper, I think it was a taxi originally, but someone's done a really good job of it with good quality kit. It is genuinely comfy for one person (I'm big and tall and can stretch out) or an intimate couple.

IMG_20250511_001331_HDR.jpg

It has a bench seat with seat belts that converts into a bed, with trimmed cushions that make up the seat. Rock and roll bed isn't it?

There are 2 gas hobs, a power hook up, leisure battery, lots of power points for USBs, lots of LED lights on switches, sink with fresh water and waste tanks. I broke the tap off but have a new replacement to go in.

It also has captains' chairs in the front.

Oh shit I'm selling it back to myself now.  It is genuinely a great wee camper that needs a fair bit of love that I don't have the capacity for just now.

To add it has had the following over the last few years -

Good replacement gearbox from a Peugeot 806, NOS genuine clutch kit, clutch cable, all 4 shock absorbers, front wishbones, track rod ends, brake discs and pads, reconditioned subframe (shout out to the finest welder in the Falkirk area @juular), 4x Maxxis all season tyres and various other bits and bobs.

The bodywork is a bit tired, the side doors don't close well but the underside is remarkably solid and rust free.

I wish I had the capacity to sort it genuinely. If anyone is up for doing the job I have the money to pay for labour and parts. It's just finding the right person who would do a big job like that on what looks like a shit old van.

I took the engine and box out when I did mine, far easier that struggling under the bonnet. Did everything whilst I had it out, clutch, hoses, driveshafts and engine mounts. Genuinely drives like new now.
