I really should put this on the GoM thread, but the page filters kick in from the work PC...Been loking through my (not insubstantialy long) list of cars that I want to look for as a Micra replacement that will serve as caravan towing donkey and one of them is the 1.9TDi P*ssat - can I just sayBUGGER ME BACKWARDSwhat a lot of shocking shite going for stupid money - both on ebay and autotrader.

Allegro, beyond equipe-spec - 1750 engine, twin weber DCNFs and EDIS ignition - just my sort of sleeper. Photos could be better...

1977 Morris Marina 1300 HL

Tidy looking Marina but it's a shame about the front seats, anyone what to guess what they are out off? :?:

Im sure it is - but pages of "£900 Passat TDi - Actual price is £3999" for 199,999 mile cars is somewhat piddling me orf.

They look like they are from a Rover 800 or Montego?Pete.

I never bother looking on Autotrader for anything, this is one of the reasons why, the search facility is fucking rubbish, and if you do manage to get a search going, 95% of the results are this sort of toss. Bring back hanging!

That Rayton looks in better nick than mine (apart from the shagged headlining). I can imagine the 2.4-litre VM struggling a bit with something that size though - mine had a 120bhp Iveco SOFIM engine and that wasn't exactly quick.

I'd never complain about £500 for a car as minty looking as that. Same spec as the second "mum's car" I drove.

The car is getting an inferiority complex and I am worried about it's state of mind.

You are on here and worried about HIS state of mind???

While it's well within his rights to sell it....thats more than cheeky thats down right wrong....

Well, i'm not so sure, TBH I suspect I could have asked a bit more for it, but I felt £600 was a good price which would hopefully lead to a quick and painless sale involving a minimal number of members of the car-buying public, which it did. Its a decent chunk more than I paid for it 20k miles ago. If he wants £1600 for it, he might get it, but I imagine it'll take a while and he'll have a few people coming and going and wasting his time (and theirs) before anyone actually buys it. I certainly wouldnt pay anything like £1600 for it, I would expect a low-miles minter for that kind of coin, which this truck is defo not.

True...but I was refering more to the fact that he has put it up for sale the next day, wait a week or two by all means, claim it's not "right" for you, sell it privately, sure....but don't buy it of a forum and bung it on the 'bay the next day at a hugely inflated price..maybe I'm weird for having morals like that, but I couldn't do it and have forum users thinking I am a shit

I agree WVM. He might at least have given it a couple of weeks rather than advertising it the very next day. Besides that, trying to punt it on at a £1k profit despite not having done anything on it is downright cheeky. I would feel enormously guilty.

i love the way he has listed everything thats been done to the truck as if it was all his own handy work :D fecking cheeky chancer

I think it takes the piss too, but i can't really see a vast difference between that and this..

Look out its the doctor! Bringing respectability and professionalism to the shite end of the market!

Buys them all off car and classic website, tarts them up with all the regular trade bling bodge items like engine laquer, bullshits them to death in his description, then punts them on for £1000's profit.

there is the difference a website as opposed to a forum... which to me is like the difference between a shop and a friend
