Ah, that's the lesser-spotted V12 INTERCOOLED 2.0 litre diesel Maestro.

 

Not many know this, but the designers at Perkins and Austin Rover wanted to out-do Ferrari's V12 of 2.5 litres as fitted to the 250 GTO. Accordingly, Chris Evans* will buy this for £15 million.

That 500SL could be bargaiacious. They were built properly at that time, bits aren't hard (or expensive) to get and they follow a fairly logical construction. my ex-bitch (she's my ex, but remains a bitch) had a 280 version and it was very impressive.

Worked on the Rover 220 - 85bhp without intercooler, 103 with (or thereabouts).

This. The awkwardness about fitting an intercooler to the Prima is that it's best to use a n/a manifold as it "points" the right way to pick up from an intercooler hose, whereas the turbo version doesn't. IIRC the Prima will produce about 95+bhp on the standard boost with no intercooler if the pump is tweeked right, so with an intercooler, it should produce a bit more.
