Mk1 Cortina's are my dream cars but this ones only a 1196cc sadly, not the 1500cc, hardly the bigger engine i was after. :(

 

And those three bearing crank 1.2s are a bit shit too, which doesn't help.

What ho Triggle Rock, you could always lob a 1.6 crossflow in the Cortina so it still looks good but goes (pretty) well too.

I've got a feeling Trigger is regretting selling the orange Opel Fruit, and is now struggling to find it's replacement. The All Aggro would earn him such respect, plus its the bigger engined one with go faster stripes! Its also pre 81, so how much more winnage does he need? LOL

To be fair, the other pictures are ok and it looks unmolested for a 1980 Capri - but did they really come from the factory that colour though? Don't recall seeing another, then or since.

I like the colour but I'm not sure it looks original, especially with the (equally gorgeous) brown check interior.

Partly true, I'm not so much regretting selling the car, I'm just struggling to find anything in such good condition and which isn't over 200 miles away.

 

The Allegro is pretty smart, the photos don't do it any favors though and at the end of the day, It's still an Allegro... :wink: It's on my watch list though.

This sold really quickly and I'm not surprised, the owner was pretty much giving it away at £1175 ono.

Trig, do you fancy an XR2? I know where there's an F reg one in red and from the brief look at it I've had, it's VERY tidy. Owner has recently died in tragic circumstances and his wife is selling it to keep up bill payments. His wife is the sister of a friend of ours. I can pass on contact details if you like.

I'd love a XR2, It's a bit modern to have as a classic car though but it would make a excellent daily driver, just out of curiosity if you can pm me the details on it and if you know a price, I might be tempted...
