As you can see by the pictures, this van has been modified

Jesus Christ!, Your not kidding! It's like a giant dodgem!

That takes me back! There were all sorts of piss-poor modified vans about in the late 80s, When I was looking to get my first car I looked at a shonky white HA witha rear seat conversion, sideskirts, huuuge mudflaps and multiple spotlights, outside the auctions in Glasgow. The vendor proclaimed it had no rust on it whatsoever - I think we all know just how much of a porky that was!!! :D:D:D

FSO Pick-up truly is a thing of beauty.

But good god, that van is atrocious. Is that a Volvo 240 bumper on the back?

Re the late Escorts, they're worth nowt these days. I was watching this one for my sister:

!CFL3O5w!mk~$(KGrHqF,!i0E1MgCLM5GBNUVPNyH6w~~_12.JPG

It has a fresh test and less than 50,000 miles FFS!

End of the line escorts really are miserable old things. And I don't mean in a good shite way, just mieserable moderns that ain't modern anymore.

I didn't expect it to be a great drive, she's no connoisseur. She just wants a small family car with enough space for her and a couple of adolescent kids. Having said that, I'm sure it would have been a more of a hoot to drive, with its Mondeo inspired, Jackie Stewart tweaked rear beam, and lively Zetec that the last Escorts enjoyed, that is compared to my sister's current Corsa 1.0 triple with a persistent misfire. That is an undeniably miserable benchmark from which to be starting!

One day I will own one of these.

How could anyone deny the beauty?

There's one this colour appeared near me recently, I'll have to get a picture.

Late Zetec Escorts are a superb drive if you ask me, dunno how they could be considered miserable in that respect. I can understand the non-Zetec ones not being a great deal of fun, but the 1.6/1.8 Zetec ones are spot on. They tend to be in nice colours at the end and the spec is reasonable enough for what they are.

Dunno why I'm always the one who has to stick up for all these normal cars.

^^^^ No Mr H, me too. Old Fatha Outlaw had alate escort Finesse estate up until fairly recently, and was perfectly happy with it, and trust me that thing got some serious abuse.

Chopped in for a 53 plate Fuckus 2.0 Estate, which he hasn't really "bonded" with tbh.

Wasn't sure whether to put this in the bargains thread. Might be quite nice but

Needs recomisoning. Not been used for 2 years

Probably quite near me if anyone really wants it looked at.

I did try to tell him he's wasting his fees, it's the second time he's put it on.

This is the reply I got....

"hi all so been selling mg for 25 years but not on ebay sold 4 this year so far seem 2 get the prie i wont in the end ta mark"

If I see one more car advertised as being "sort after" I'll go on a violent killing rampage.

I agree with that, I've had a few and can't really fault them for what they cost now, It's a shame they all suffer from rotten rear arches now though, There's a blue W plate one like above for sale up the road for £750, That seems like little money for what you get, Air Con, Alloys, Fogs, E/W's and CD player.

My mates had a T plate Finesse for years before the arches fell off and he sold it for pennies, He did replace it with a mint "X" plater but had to sell it again quickly due to getting a big bill from his ex...

I had a late Escort TD. It was a perfectly adequate car to drive but I have never known such an unreliable and fragile car. Things broke that I've never experienced in 20 years of driving shitters. It was an utter bastard to work on too, and extremely expensive for parts.

Great Doner Car

Oh aye, for what exactly?

Kebabs evidently....

It appears that these 'other' people we keep coming across (whilst looking at these here shit vehicles), have not been paying attention to our spelling, grammar and punctuation lessons....

Something must be done.

I would, even though they rot for fun...

-1 on the Ford Escort Mk5/6/7 though. Hateful, hateful cars. They're the true 'bottom of the barrel' motor for when you absolutely cannot afford anything else and one pops up for sale for £80 with some MOT. Even then they should only be used when you absolutely have to and then weighed in immediately afterwards.
