Volksy
Those Lancer Wagon's have THE BEST TAIL LAMPS EVER. Like some designer looked at that naff angular red/grey/black wallpaper you could get in 1986 and said 'YES, that's the look!'Someone's parent at my Middle School had one, I thought the same as the taillamps matched my bedroom carpet! keef
I'll tell you how I do it and you can see if it's available to you. Thanks for that.I tend to use Photobucket for images on here, as it gives a direct link URL. Flickr is very good for grouping pics though, so might try and use that more.
keef
I'll make the above Triumph image viewable so I'll add it to the group. Thanks for that.I've left you a few invites to other groups as/when/if you get a chance to add them please; it seems to be one of the good points for Flickr. reallyloud
A few spots seen over the last few weeks, this little lot seen in and around the Dorset area. First generation 3 door model, seems to be just as rare as the first incarnation. Pleasingly bland. This might be up for sale, no price mentioned - I have no idea whats they're worth. Its been in the family since new - has a few blemishes and scabs but has been garaged all its life. Sounds bloody lovely too. I lost my barn storage last week - I can't complain as the car was stored for 3 years on secure private property for nowt. Car was a bit dusty and an owl decided to leave massive stools on it, furthermore some mice decided to live in the battery compartment - but fortunately left the wires alone. As expected, the car fired up after 2 turns of the key. It needs a bit of suspension surface rust rub down and a general clean up but its all metal. A few spots at the Beaulieu autojumble car park. The weather started off pretty wet, but didn't seem to effect the attendance numbers. Love the wheels on this. Spectacularly rusty Maestro. Gorgeous car, amazingly modern looking for its age. I reckon this is a genuine Turbo model - despite the lack of alloy wheels and spoilers. This chap drove all the way from Sweden in this car. Total hero. Inside the event were the usual array of mega-priced cars. Quite a few were sold today suggesting that the Classic car market seems to be thriving. And a selection of cars on display. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2346/3536324403_e39fc29d48_o.jpg Replica of the original Andrew Cowans car, which won the event in 1968 - the original car still exists. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2308/3537138902_24f7d6fbcc_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2067/3536324885_8af6ff271f_o.jpg The Ford Anglia 105E club had a good selection of cars at the event, celebrating 50 years since the first one left the production line. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2039/3537139316_c7073bbf5d_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2433/3537139552_f006f90227_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2038/3537141124_71d8481015_o.jpg Mafia Hearse transporter. Bizarre and not the kind of thing you'd expect to see, but its a genuine UK car. I'll post the rest of them tomorrow.

Ratdat
Now that Fiat IS worth dying for I want that Alfasud so bad! Identical to one I used to tinker with back when I was first driving. I fear it would only bring me misery and heartache though.

reallyloud
Thanks for the amends Michiel - I'll correct that. Jons car has been listed since March, so I guess at the time it would have had 3 months worth of MOT - and I know the car well - it should pass with a minimum of effort. The car was owned by an ex RR member (I bought my Carina off him) who also owned a 70's Opel Commodore saloon, a 2 door LHD Ascona C, a early VW Golf GTI and a Mini 1275GT. He then vanished off the earth.

keef
Here's a selection of the rest of the pictures:I'm a bit confused as I can't find any of them here :-http://www.flickr.com/photos/reallyloud/:-(CRU105C (VDP 1300) is a bit confusing as it's too early to be a true 1300. It's a Mk1 with Mk2 wheels. Maybe someone dropped a 1275 lump into a 1100 shell or .....

55bloke
More wonderful pics! I well remember bubble-arched Anglias from my youth- that one looks like it might be a bit rough, the sill between the door and the rear arch looks to be full of filler, and the back edge of the front wing all down the A post looks a bit worrying too! And those 2 barn-find Pops (and a Riley RM?) are great- it amazes me that stuff like that still turns up! Makes me want to prowl the country investigating all the barns and derelict garages I can find!
retrogeezer
Jons car has been listed since March, so I guess at the time it would have had 3 months worth of MOTMakes more sense.....but 3 months MOT still isn't very confidence inspiring for a 70's Datsun. Is it just me, as I always feel anything like that with such a short MOT means the current owner is getting shot of it before it costs too much money? Some nice car park pics there by the way. reallyloud
A small selection of cars from the Enfield Pageant on the bank holiday monday- Seth has already reported on this but I'll bang them up anyway as there were quite a few neat cars. I do regret not going on the sunday, there was a lot of spaces. I'm going through a Ford phase at the moment....I'm sure it will wear off soon. I think this is the earliest Escort I've seen - but is this plate correct? The car looks like a early 70's version. MK4 Zodiac club had some neat menacing looking cars of display. Camper van is odd - I saw a Rover P5 with a similar conversion once. Presumably a very late MK1. The MK2 Crayford is a neat conversion, whereas the MK4 looks like a home conversion job.... ...especially when you see what a good job they did on the Cavalier. I know Crayford did some interesting conversions - they converted the mk1 Audi 100's into Convertibles and Estates. I think they did work on Mercs too. I have to say this has to be my favourite Vauxhall I've seen in ages. These old cruisers are virtually extinct now. I remember doing my school work experience at Austin Rover when they launched the 827. The first batch were all in British racing green and destined for the states. All were badged Sterling. From what I recall, the office I sat in was full of guys smoking snouts and expecting the states to love the car..... Similar area indentifying plates to the 827. Never knew of this car existance - air suspension apparently. Model toy car dealers daily. He's a renault buff, having owned most of the Renaults coverted on here. Nice chap too. The 300C club usually have an excellent presence at most of the major UK shows - its a shame that the rest of the Datsun range have a low presence these days. The rest are random selected spots over the last few weeks. I'd love to take this in to a Hyundai dealer for a 2k reduction on a Hyundai I10..... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2425/3593657472_834f0c7dd2_o.jpg

seth
Did you notice that aircraft carrier camper conversion was made by Ginetta? I didn't know they were into making stuff like that.I also chatted to Renault model man. Good bloke!
Spottedlaurel
These wheels always look so right on 1960s Fords: Very 1980s Street Machine. Years ago I used to see a clean, early Mk3 Cortina 2dr with a set of them on, suited that nicely too. I suppose Ginetta making big things with fibreglass gives a degree of logic to that camper conversion. Just trying to suss it out, presumably the bootlid is removed and that becomes a standing/cooking area, then the bed is over the roof? Is the whole thing mounted permanently? Some other good pic's, as ever. About the Datsun presence at shows, we do seem to be struggling a bit with that. Assuming that the TEC's do at Billing is on (says so on their calendar) that could be good. With family/house commitments I can't get to much at the moment. The 300C/Cedric people seem to get everywhere, to an almost obsessive degree.

That does look dodgy, definitely looks like a '70s colour,I remember most of the early estates being white or silver. It looks white inside though,& is that a Mk 2 front bumper? Worth remembering that apart from the front panels, there's sod all difference between a Mk1 and 2 estate (or van). Ford are such cheapskates! reallyloud
The Fiat was a favourite of mine too, road side spots are more interesting to me, cars at shows are no brainers really and like shooting fish in a barrel. However I'm finding snapping moving cars at speed is another thing all together. There's a high percentage of fail and you can't always select the best angle, not to mention getting the car in the frame. The sharpness is lacking in some of my panning shots at todays Castle Combe Classic and Retro day, but a reasonable number came out ok. I'll bang on the static stuff on display tomorrow, once I shift through the more interesting ones.
