Excellent, can't wait to see more pics when you collect it.

Fantastic! I'm really warming to these - the more time that passes the better they look. It really was a neat design. I honestly think that. Honest.

Top purchase!I wonder why square steering wheels never caught on? :D

Excellent buy Louise, well done. Let us know how you get on with that wheel!! :P My parents had an R-reg Allegro in the early '90s and it was always a reliable car. From what I remember, aside from crappy materials for the interior, it wasn't actually that badly screwed together either.I'd love another someday and I think an early 1300 Super like yours with that vertical grille is the one I'd go for. What colour is that by the way? Tundra?

Somewhere I have the nude (well topless) version of this - not sure if anyone can shed any light on why it was produced.

Well, my sister fancied a road trip, so her boyfriend swapped shifts at work and they set out to Staffordshire on Saturday morning, it was love at first sight for Abby too!

Fab car, so quick its frightening.

Great car , could see myself trolling about in one of those

Posted

Fabbilous, and great pics. Nippy? Quick? What engine does it have?

Posted

1275, A plus I think. I found it running away from me, it was a bit scary on the by-pass actually! not used to speed like that without having my foot planted on the floor!

Posted

Shame about that dent on the rear quarter - can you do anything about it?Looks pretty clean otherwise. Good work.

Posted

Yeah, the last owner wasn't sure where that came from, its not damaged the paint, but I wouldn't know where to start in terms of repairing it. With the 2cv dents were like cosmetic enhancements!

Those pics are HOT HOT HOT!!!

Will you be changing your name to LouiseAllegro?

Posted

Cor that Allegro is nice. I've seen one advertised in the Scot Ads and I've been having mad thoughts about buying it instead of a sensible car.

Posted

Just to be pendantic...Its probably not an A+, they didn't come alongtil about 1980, unless someone has swapped it for one nicked out of a Metro, which would make me sad.Ace wheels though!

Posted

It has, it was an auto, but the box died so it was converted to manual a couple of years ago with the engine and box from an 83 car. It doesn't bother me, but I know it would some.

Posted

Excellent, all A-series autos constitute an abuse on the human rights of all those who are obliged to use one for essential travel.

Posted

Thats lovely, although the first time i've ever heard an Allegro described as too quick... Looks like it'll be a lot fo fun to pootle about in, good work.(also, get yer trousers on guys! it's turning into perv central in here (again))

Posted

Well done that girl! Keep us posted on how you get on day to day.
