Phillips Landy

Heard that Phillips funeral next week, he will be transported to the church and then burial ground in a Land Rover hearse that he has helped to design.

Now Landy hearses are nothing new, but I wonder what the Royal one will look like.

Obv's will need to be LWB

But crew cabbed? I dont think it needs to be myself...

But visibility of the coffin needs to be good (its also going to be heavy as by tradition it will be lined with lead)
Perhaps a tilt cab arrangement?

Maybe even a SWB with a plank attachment...

Ive got a feeling the back of the LR will look similar to this type of set up with a LOT of glass.image-placeholder-title.thumb.jpg.18fa2547565ab3d41e208c4938e0f959.jpg..

Once interviewed, HRH was asked if he imagined his obit would be favourable...

"Not too bothered, I won't be here to read them!"

...... there speaks a man who has 'landy hearse' firmly in his plans, en route to the BigHouse.....

The valance/sill arrangement is a bit weird looking, it appears to be ~50% deeper than standard.

I hope it doesn’t go all Landrover on the day and break down.

Heard on the radio today that he, or a minion, took 18 years to do it.

This has inspired my Old Man to decide he wants to go to the knackers yard in his Land Rover , when the time comes.

Unfortunately he only owns SWB ones, A 2008 90 and a 1956 86”, current thinking is to make a platform from spare wheel on bonnet to tailgate on the Series 1, he’s been drawing plans, apparently....

My brothers idea of chucking him up on the roof rack of the 90 wouldn’t be dignified.

Hes only 74 and in rude health so will probably outlive the Defender , anyway.

They have experience in LR products it seems !

Wonder why it has S2A sills ?

And why not? Good for him - though 18 years is a long time to be planning for it.

Is that a 130 chassis? It's certainly stretched.
