nope, normal Phillips heads. Having removed a lot of stereos over the years these are a nightmare. Seemingly put it at the factory with the same torque settings as the hub nuts

Have you tried the normal Autoshite solution?

Ive tried swearing at it, having a rant about the design, attempting to jam a bigger screwdriver in and then giving up by installing the new radio under the old one until I get bits of a scrapped one.

So I guess I have

Environmentalists had better look away now.

Look at the picture below, can you see the small box on top of the dash?

scandash.jpg

Recently that small box was (miss)ordered to be taken from Widnes to Stockport via the haulage firm I was working for. A trip of about 35 miles in a single digit MPG Scania. I'm no tree hugger but even I realise it would of been better off sent via a courier in a van or maybe on a bike. I dread to think what the cost involved was sending it by HGV. Needless to say I securely strapped it to a pallet and made sure my "load" was properly centralised. I also insisted on it being removed with a fork lift.

Widnes-Stockport? I hope none of the white powder fell out?

Somebody I used to work with allegedly killed his wife today.

Not nice. He's a taxi driver and I've heard he stabbed his wife to death in front of their kids. Just speculation so far. May not be true.

taxi driver

Says it all

Hey! I was a Taxi driver for 9 years and I have not killed anyone. (That I have been caught for)

I drove a taxi for eight years and only tried to kill a few people. Never succeeded though.

Question: "Do you want to swap my mobile phone for your car?"

Answer: "I'm going to kill myself."

Drove a Taxi for 6 years, did once drive straight at a drunk I'd kicked out of the car who had no money and was going to fucking kill me next time he saw me, had just had enough of arseholes calling me a robbing bastard for daring to want money for the pleasure of taking them home, cleaning up their pee and kebabs etc, pissed up though he was he had the sense to jump out of the way of my speeding montego (no seriously) or I would have hit him, shook like a leaf afterwards but had just had enough of the crap the travelling public felt justified in heaping onto me;

never felt like stabbing my mrs though, hope it all turns out to be just a rumour WTC, but often wonder if Derrick Bird had chosen a different career Whitehaven would have several more residents on the electorial roll.

I actually feel sympathy for the taxi driver in Turkey who killed the British tourist. They were shining a laser pen in his eyes and kicking the side of his cab.

Starter motor has packed up on the Rover. Arsecakes. Still, not too hard to replace.

Got a free hire car whilst the Mrs' car is in being straightened out after an accident. It's the most miserable heap of crap i've ever driven. Mitsubishi Lancer 1.3 Auto, it's the most noisy, underpowered heap of bland i've ever had the misfortune to have to drive.

Foolishly i agreed to use it for a week while she uses my LR2, too.

Ditto here, only I got a Vauxhall Insignia SRI diesel auto. I have done approx 10 miles in the thing and is miserable. I really wanted to like it as it looks much nicer inside and out than the Vectra. The ride is rock hard, the seats are rock hard (obviously spoilt by comfy Renault seat). It is impossible to drive smoothly around town. The gearbox can't make up it's mind what gear it wants to be in and the changes are horrendous. However, once you get it on a straight bit of road it flies. It just wants to be thrashed, you cannot drive it smoothly. Oh and the rear visibilty is chuffin awful. Not impressed with fuel consumption either, my little 10 mile jaunt has knocked 50 miles off the range according to the computer thingy.

Redeeming feature is the superb climate control

Belated one from me but I must vent before I go nuts and kill the wife or something.

Some scrote had the fuel out my bike whilst I was on hols  Had to clear space in the garage for it now...bastards.

Some knobbed crashed into Micra whilst it was parked. no details left .... must have been jealous because I had spent the last 2 days cleaning and fettling it. Fucksocks...

I decided to take the DAF along to a show today it was happily cruising along nicely at 60 then BANG at the crest of the hill and one of the bloody belts snapped. Being honest i was expecting it as the belt had being slipping turning hard right and to had to that the brakes need rebuilt before its MOT on the 22nd. On the plus side the new belts were included when i bought it. The joys of shite motoring.

Had headaches, hot and cold flushes and the shits all day on Sunday. Couldn't sleep so just got up and treated myself to some rice crispies. MISTAKE!!

Sorry to hear that Moog, unfortunately there are alot of twats that hate Micras, I still occasionaly have to deal with cock-jockys in bigger (like the twat in the Pugshit 308 today) cars trying to run me off the road/drive at me/pull out in front of me ect ect.... when I'm in the Micra.

I bet it was BMW that crashed into your Micra too. Hope you can get it sorted.

* Incidently, there is a Silver facelift Micra in a scrappy not far from me, if there are parts you want me to get for you, just let me know.

That's if they allow my posts - I've had just one approved so far and another 2 awaiting moderation (one for the last 3 days) so I'm not hopeful.

I'd like my new job to get back to me. I was back from Sweden last Thursday. Since then I've called, been in and rung again. Listen lads - do you want me to start or what? I may not be around in the August weekends but there's bloody plenty I can be doing for you during the week until we hit September. I can't give you a better indication of when I can work during the week until University pull their finger out of their arse and give me a timetable with my options listed accurately. A generic timetable listing everything isn't good enough. I need to know, sort of NOW, what options I've been accepted on to so I can at least start putting a schedule together.

I'm starting to think Warren's right and that I should bob down to the car delivery place instead, and get some hours in. If the other place kick off I may well say to them that I've given an ample amount of time and chased them as far as I can without being a nuisance, and that they showed zero interest in giving me a start date. From what I know neither of my references have been contacted either. The last time I went in they appeared to have lost my response sheet showing the holidays I had booked off. When the confirmation letter arrived I went straight in to confirm in person.

I like the time off but it's getting a bit stupid now.

Sodding pikeys around again. Fortunately saw them coming so had time to get down the garden with mega fierce dog before everything disappeared in the pikey pickup. Wasted the afternoon moving the more valuable stuff before they come back when I'm out. sodding pikeys.

Cheers for the offer I am going to try just knocking them out. They hit is halfway down just behind the B pillar. Its a 3 door otherwise I could have just swapped the door out.
