Myhermes?

Yes, but in mitigation, this is the first time I have had trouble with them.

It turns out the road was "busy" with lorries and cars so She hadn't bothered to try and get down there to deliver them.

I have never felt a need to stick my hand up a cow's back end, and so I'm not a vet, if she isn't fussed on delivering packages I think she is in the wrong trade.

Anyway perhaps we will be taking the Volvo on Holiday after all!

Unbefuckinglievable. Thank you Strutherhill Motors. Not only failing to fix the starting problem and MOT'ing my car, you fail to inform me that the car has been nicked, crashed and raided. I finally got fed up with the lack of communication (never return calls), I thought a spot check was in order, and also get the car moved to a nearby specialist. To avoid any nastiness (I am not local), I decided to just engage the 6'5 heavily built chap with the transporter to argue my case for not needing to pay for any of the work done so far (starter, alternator, battery and diagnosis labour) and peg it. I only noticed the internal vandalism when we'd arrived at CM in Kilbride.

Did I mention they have had the car since last September?

Not a happy bunny. But wallet unaided. Apart from the 840 mile round trip, but I'll call in on a client on the way back to get the mileage.

Probably needs a few hundred thrown at it, then sell it on for a few hundred more than that to someone who already wants it for £700. Shh. Don't mention £35. c29924e811ebf6398c36e9179a1d5974.jpg31b9c979cfa96165aab69ddd2b085c28.jpg

No offers on nob_van as of yet. Not even idiotic ones.

It hasn't been long (and yes, it's priced to put the troglodytes off) but I couldn't move for offers of people wanting to buy it (yes, really) when it was on the road/in storage.

Another week and it'll probably hit eBay. Can't wait*.

Unless I've missed it have you made a for sale thread with pics for it?

Grumps off.

Why?

1. Because there are other places to sell a car

2. I doubt anyone on Autoshite will want to buy it, and the last time I tried to sell a diesel Peugeot on here I rage quit the forum for a month

3. There's a for sale thread up here now?

Last week I sold 100 pool ball gear knobs to a well known VW tat pushing firm. Kerching! Win!

Except it used up a big chunk of my supplies, so phoned up to order more 8 balls. They're in a container, be here Tuesday. Or maybe Wednesday.

Or as they've told me today, June 22nd. Fucksocks.

Going on holiday tomorrow, just put some stuff in the garage, sodding door broke....

One of the cables holding the door up has snapped on the loop that attaches the door to the spring so it wouldn't go down and hung lopsided.

So stood in the rain with Mrs Shrimp winding it down by hand. Locked now but chuff knows if I can open it again.

My wife's Volvo S90 got attacked by an arctic on the motorway today, it's chewed up the drivers side quite badly and it looks like the door frames are a little deformed, I'm not sure we will see it again, she's OK so I couldnt really care less about the car in all honesty.

In an associated grump I'm wishing I'd brought gap Insurance when I had the chance.

Do you still have the adaptors suitable for a Saxo? My late Ax gearknob is dropping to bits as are most of similar vintage. Perhaps a change in in order!

Despite the heating being off because it's summer* woke up warm from the previous days sun, dickhead cat brought a bird in and we had all windows and doors open to get it out. Had breakfast, went to have a nice warm shower and the shower stopped working after I'd covered myself in suds, got out of shower cold, covered in suds in a freezing cold house. I'd been growling at the badger last night so I've got smelly nostril hair too

What a bunch of twats. I respect you for just getting the car and telling them to sing for their money. I doubt I'd have been as restrained.

It really was my only option Bub, I'm not built for physical negotiation with a bunch of guys with large spanners. The English aren't exactly popular around there either!!! (Nor are the Scots to be fair!)

Where are you?

This is Larkhall where lived last year before moving to London. Fiat FTP'ed a few days before the grand move and was (until yesterday) still loaded to the gills with boxes and moving house stuff. There was £400 worth of office chair in the back* but the idiots would rather faff about ripping out a £40 radio! Easier to conceal I suppose... I don't want to do the area down though, we lived a few miles out of the town and never really had any issues. Why did I choose that place to fix and MoT? It was the nearest place walkable from the train station for the collection.

Sounds lovely! Lately I've found that no matter where it is that garages and the people that work in them are a world unto themselves.

+1 for working Dyane content, even if it wants to off you.

As grumpy balance, I've asked for the nob_van thread to be deleted.

Mmmm I've buggered something on the Zafira, it's still leaking oil, but not from the rocker cover, all of that seam is dry... The front lh corner, the cambelt cover is soaked (cambelt isn't though). There's a sensor bolted to the block there which I might remove and re seal incase I caught it, can't quite think what else I might have buggered though,

Dont you just love some teenage gobshite with a hard-man attitude telling you the facts* because he has worked in a parts store for eighteen months and is an expert on everything?

Oh really? you NEED my registration number to check the fitment of this universal 40mm exhaust clamp before you sell it to me do you? Right, well its for a custom thing that your precious computer wont list, so lets not bother eh? Oh, you want to write "guarantee void" in big letters on my receipt because you think I am going to "misuse" it? well, you go right ahead if that makes you feel better, the receipt was going in the bin outside your door anyway.

I dunno man. Its not just garages either.....I dont know if its an "Im getting older and less tolerant" thing or if its a "young folk are getting more cuntish" thing. I find it impossible to spend any length of time in a public place without wanting to zap someone in the face with a cattle prod.
