Show me ya shite!

It's a hatch, it's very tidy but not immaculate, 69k from new, came with nearly 20 year's worth of tax discs, every MOT since '82, original brochure and handbook, two owners, the last (sadly deceased) bought it when it was 16 months old and I have that bill of sale from September '79 when he bought it from a Leyland dealer!

It was part of my 2011 Shite plan to get something Japanese from the 70's, just didn't expect it to happen so quick.

That's how you dream of finding them, isn't it!

Lovely car. Is that a Stagea behind it?

That looks a great buy with all that history. I have a strange "thing" for these.

I'll be honest I was originally thinking of getting a 100a or 120Y, or even an early 323 or Starlet but it all comes down to money and this was within my "agreed" budget.

Is that a Stagea behind it?

Yeah that's my daily driver!

Getting a bit crowded around here now so my "long-term" Jago project and recently purchased Fiesta will have to go soon as the boss wants a Dandy folding camper ready for this year's show season (no more tents for us) and that will take up the space of a small car.

What a stunning little car. I loved my Mk1 Civic - the rear arches were completely shagged but the interior and mechanics were like new (it'd only done 37K) and it was an absolute hoot to drive. That one you've just bought is the tidiest one I've seen for a very long time.

Gave it a bl**dy good clean up today (six months dust + the 80 mile trip yesterday)

Dried it all off, bought a new car cover, so thats it all tucked up until I'm allowed to play..........

Will you be 'showing' it?

Certainly will, no doubt you'll catch up with it at Thoresby later in the year.

The MG I bought from Redsparrow. It'll be in the garage soon and my first ever stab as at a resto project. Ignore the 'OMG Ratlook' roofrack - it was fitted to carry a ladder and garden stuff, not old oil cans etc. Looking forward to getting started as I have an idea of what I want it to be like when done :D

It'll mean I need to finish off the few little bits on this to get it out the garage and back on the road. The reg plate you can see on the far wall in the background is off my parents old Austin Princess they had 30 years ago 8)

It will hopefully look like this again

Added this bit of potential trouble and expense to the fleet last month- currently dry stored except when it rains (then pig crap floods through from the pens behind...).

Like your thinking...

If only it looked as nice in real life, but still really happy with it...

Still here but not for long. Probably really sad but I like driving it and it's actually very smooth and quite nice to bumble round in...

Half-arsed transport for brother's wedding, this is my daily runabout which makes me grin a lot when I welly it...

Bit of an update here, too. You all know about the Commodore diesel but here it is again:

and here's the latest to the collection, for the little lady (mentioned over on the grin thread a while back):

There is another addition but I'm sort of denying ownership of it, at least until I get it welded up for the WOF (and thus learn how to weld in the process). Helps that it's stored about 100km from home too.

Somehow I seem to have failed to reply to the 29 or so pages of this thread, so here is my current fleet:

1987 mk1 Sterling, binned its own engine in spectacular fashion about this time last year. Currently taking up valuable space and rusting away at a mates house.

1990 Sterling, currently at a mates garage awaiting gearbox fittage and recommissioning.

Nissan Micra facelift. Added some higher spec OEM stuff to it. Currently in use by Mother_Sterling

Rover 820e - My current daily smoker, its a borrowed car owned by a mate. Cheap on fuel seemingly but a bugger to drive when cold, desperately needs servicing.
