Car cum Trailer

This is just bizzare! I can just picture the advert now:

"You're driving too close! ... Shouldn't you be braking now? ... Mind the cyclist!"

(Posh voice)

"Mother-in-law annoying you with her back seat driver antics? Why not give your ears a rest and invite her to ride in the stylish Daf trailer, complete with working windscreen wipers so she can continue to command an excellent view of the road ahead in all weathers, but leave you to do the driving in peace."

There could also be a remote detach button, so you can get up to speed on the motorway and then dump her in the path of a lorry.

I have actually got one of these, it's well useful and you can sleep in it too, some geezer built it to go round the autojumbles for his LR breaking business.

Here it is

If you do have one of those awful half car things, like the Orion there, is it actually legal for people to sit in the trailer bit on a journey?

There's a Capri one going about, possibly a Mk2, that I didnt think looked bad. I reckon it was a caravan rather than a trailer. This was however 6+ years ago when it seemed to be quite original - to me atleast.

This one (MkIII though)?

I do like that idea, a big trailer for tat that also doubles up a a sort of Tentavan to sleep in. Bet it weighs a lot though?

That Orion is totally stupid, I hate the man who made it and i've never even met him.The Capri, on the other hand, is totally ACE

Nah, it's pretty light - the tub is alloy obviously, the roof weighs next to nothing and it possibly cheats a little on the 'car trailer' front as the chassis is actually a custom affair which is strong but no-where near as heavy as a Landy chassis cut in half. The axle is a simple tube with two LR hubs and brakes on it. You can shift it about single handed easily and even with a ripping 60 BHP my LR doesn't really notice it is there.

M-plate?

What do you tow it with?

That's off my old man's Range Rover. They used to use it for weekends away. :)

I like how the trailer has its own towbar, he should knock up hundreds of them, park them around different places and go around scooping them up one by one and adding them to the back as he goes along. It'd be like a car version of that "Snake" game on old Nokia phones, when it gets really long he'll have to be careful about coming back on himself on roundabouts as he'll crash into his own trailers and it'll be game over.

I dont think it's that one, although it does look similar - it was the same method.

The pic I saw was in Classic Ford, and I thought it was yellow but I could be totally wrong.

Kwal, looks like a Sankey is underneath.

Capri trailer is very cool. Orion, not so much. In fact the Orion trailer is just shit. And not very practical given it still has seats in it. Whats the point of that?

I'll bet the twatty owner of the onion trailer has the front end of it converted into a cocktail cabinet for use as a "focal point" in his living room. With the lights wired up. And his name on the number plate. Fucktard tosser.

I just laughed my knackers off at this idea. I also like his classy '5TEW' reg plates and the fact he's covered them over with window tint. I bet he thinks he's sticking it right to VOSA with that ingenious ploy. Its enough to make anyone want to become a traffic copper, just so you can give a bit of legitimate grief to these goons :roll:

Wouldnt be seen dead driving that Orion combo , id be sooooo embarrased , this coming from someone who drives an Imp estate

Love the 500 (obviously  ) but why does it have an ironing board for a steering wheel?
