Oil change - although it ws spotless it was 16 years old...

 

Note to self - it only has enough clearance for the short Zetec filter.

 

 

 

And now the o/s electric window works as well.

And the boot release.

And the radio.

Update appreciated! That door wiring looks like a right old birds nest, was that the root cause of the problem or did the dreaded Ford window cable issue come into play here?

Fuel gauge is a bit meh. Had to source a replacement tank and sender/pump. 

Always fill them up before storage....always. 

 

Fuel cap broke off. Bugger.

Single wiper aligned to wrong side of screen.

Brakes a bit, well, 'stood for 16years' if you follow.

 

However, he/she/it is awaiting a test ..

Good result, just a tweak of the handbrake and you are good to go!

So, I need storage for the beast or sale incoming. No shows, no space now and it deserves proper attention now or after storage. 

Had two offers for bits so far, unsolicited....is there that much interest in mk3s these days?

Went into po dad's garage in 2006 I believe, then life got in way. 

I, with help from mk2craig and cintwelder effected a recovery / prevention from breaking for parts. 

 

It's Mot'd but in need of fettling. Time is something I seem to have none of. 

Umm.

It's the best one unrestored one I've seen in years.

Fuel gauge sorting.

Decent,new rubber fuel hoses.

Filler neck retainer replacing. 

Gearbox oil change.

An engine mount replacing.

Tidying. I removed 10billionty webs from it.

Makes a lovely noise, and pulls like a fish.

 

Was a car mag feature car as well.....oooooh etc.

I'm not sure tbh, I stumbled across him on Instagram, there's some cracking old photos he pops up.

I missed out on the owning the Max Power age of cars as i was too young. I used to get Max Power and Revs, but always preferred Cars and Car Conversions, which was much easier to get my parents to buy me as it wasn't full of tits 😂
