Caravan Club have just closed all their sites until the end of June so we could be looking at long term disruption.

I accidentally caught Boris on the news this afternoon talking about 12 weeks.  Not looking good!

I know. I’ve been watching all of the government updates and keeping a close eye on it all and I’m shitting myself if I’m honest! The scenes and numbers coming out of Italy are absolutely awful, and they reckon were only a couple of weeks behind them but following the same path.

I really do believe it’s time to stay in your homes and isolate yourself completely for a couple of months. I actually can’t believe I’m living through this! I never thought I’d see anything like this.

It’s almost like the early episodes from The Walking Dead! Obviously nobody’s turning into zombies, but it’s absolutely frightening. It’s almost unstoppable at the moment.

I'm a bit surprised I haven't had cancellation emails from the caravan park or the Premier Inn yet.  Given the way things are going, there's only one thing I can do really, which is call this off.  If I end up losing the money I've already laid out, well it could be worse.

Well, the cancellations have come in, from both the caravan park and the Premier Inn.  The refunds will follow in due course, which they wouldn't have done had I cancelled.  Because the operators have done it, I can get my money back.  Let's hope we can have another crack at this next year.

Fingers crossed Eddy, this years a write off unfortunately I think. Even doing something later this year I’m not convinced will be allowed.

I think you're right Dan.  I've been getting cancellation emails for events I would normally be at; I've had to re-arrange one of my Experience Days that I had booked.  The other's in July, so I'll have to make a decision about that one too in the near future.

Just saw the title in an email and was transported back to the days of NADS, there was a Lemon Eddy there (Edward Citrone, if that isn't some kind of coincidence, lived in your part of the world too).

Too much Beaujolais (yes, I had to copy it off the label)

Well now... it's looking like this is back on!  September is the ballpark, we are hoping to be able to travel, for various reasons.  If it does happen, Cannock will be the evenings of Wednesday 8th and Tuesday 14th, and Fareham (M27 J9) on the dates between.  Not sure if I'll be able to work in a stop at the Burger Van at Portsdown but we will see.

Of course it could all change yet!

Ok, we are booked in at Fareham, at the Premier Inn.  Cannock not confirmed yet but that is where I'm planning to put the overnight stops, both directions.  Dates as already described.  If there's going to be a burger meet, which is not yet guaranteed, I think it will most likely be Saturday.  Having said that, would people be able to make Thursday or Friday instead?

Anyway, at the moment the Premier Inns are open, so both Cannock and Fareham are on.  Dates are upthread.

Following top level negotiations by a crack team of specialists, I have now scored permission for a Saturday burger meet up at Portsdown Hill.  So that'll be September 11th, 12 noon, all Shiters within reach will be welcome.

Is there more than one now?    The one I remember is called Mick's, I think.  It's surrounded by a big car park, which was handy when Dan and I had Huggy and the Mercury there together!
