Some highlights from that site:

Each of our 216 GTi's are hand picked by our sales manager and as a must, each is under the magical 100K miles.

A World First? Possibly. REA Motor Holdings present for the first time ever in sole ownership, all six official factory colour variants of the Rover 216 GTi twin cam 3 door hot hatch.Car's are pictured in order of first registration, with the diamond white Gti from the left, being the oldest numerically.

He's not just lumbered with 6 216 GTi's, but 2 220 GTi's.

Possibly a bit deluded.

Some more quotes from his excellent 'forcourt'.

W397 ECT first registered 27/04/2000, finished in Arden Green Metallic with Sandstone beige Cloth interior.

91k Miles, 3 Previous Owners, Full service History and service receipts, 6 disc multi changer and dual climate control (air con), car has new, 12 month MOT gained on the 8th September 2009.

Drive away today for £2,650.00

So, that's a KV6 engined, cloth trim, 9 year old Rover 75 manual with just under 'the magical 100k' for £2k over the odds.

Gotta love his optimism.

They seem to be under some sort of impression that following the company's demise they have instantly become collectable in some way. Gonna take a while longer for that to happen methinks

I wonder what he pays for this shite? Mind you I'd give him two and a half for a decent MG V8 with the Mustang engine.

ZT-T 260s are immense. Unfortunately, they're also expensive, and worth every single penny. Out of absolutely everything I've ever driven, the ZT-T 260 is in the top 5 of my favourite cars of all time. Considering I've used some pretty exotic and very quick stuff, and I don't like MGs at all, that is one hell of a compliment.Out of all the quick and lunatic stuff I've driven, the MG ZT-T V8 is the one I want to own. It's the one that whenever I've got some 'spare' cash I think about buying. It's day-to-day useable and immensely good fun when on the twisties. Oh, and they sound immense. I actually recorded the one I had when I was on my last trip out in it, only on my mobile, but still...I doubt they'll ever drop much below £4k. The V8 is a modern classic.

Was it not available as a saloon? (the extra 'T' standing for 'Touring' estate)

Has to laugh to myself at this quote on Yahoo:

The Rover 75 Tourer is just about as pipe and slippers as modern cars get and yet the taught, aggressive MG shares so much with it. A Rover 75 owner swapping his leisurely Sunday drive in the country for a brisk jaunt in an MG ZT-T would probably be left feeling stunned - as if hed just smoked his slippers.

:lol:I got a sofa in the back of brother's one, he used to call it 'The Hearse', it was HUGE.

Yep, the ZT is the saloon. I like estates.

Some of the high points of bullshit for me....

Additional pictures supplied from the seller from whom REA Motor Holding source this vehicle.

You mean lifted from the ebay listing!

A modern classic that still holds it's own on our highways and your driveway.

Shut up, you cock!

CHeck out the blurb for the rag-top he's got. Ok, it has a new genuine roof, enough already.

hey we had a 216gti in our college for a while. It had massively rusty arches.Probably worse than the 100s get. And i bet some of his do as well.Okay, so they are pretty good cars but nothing justifies that stupid price tag. Also, its clear some of the pictures are angled and lighted so that certain areas arent brought to immediate attention..........

Do a Google for that very strange bloke wearing a basque and, erm, 'making love' to a Range Rover exhaust and tell me it's not this bloke or his brother.

I got shot down last time i posted that image on here but yes, i think you are right! :lol:I also remember a story on Radio 1 news once many years ago about this bloke that was locked up for making 'sweet' love to the exhausts of Metro's in multi-story car parks, Now i wonder...

Posted

ha ha thanks for posting this up. What a prat! he's almost as crazy as raymanboy

Posted

Given that his entire stock cost about a grand, he could be onto a winner...He seems to have shifted a few K Series Metroids.

Posted

I kind of like the fact that someone cares about them, but he is very mad, as would anybody who pays his asking prices be.

That's about a mile from where I live (North Bristol).Born and brought up around the area and never heard of 'Hedgerows Garage' - will do some digging and hopefully be able to take a sneaky peek at his 'stock'.BTW there are a reasonable amount of Rovers of that age around here because British Aerospace owned Rover at the time and offered it's employees discounts, and the management free rides. The site is nearby (Filton), and most of the management chose the GTI or cabriolet option.

Posted

Actually the local Aerospace round here offered discounts on Rovers too. Quite a few people who should know better were driving round in budget priced 214 headgasket specials.

My elderly neighbour has one of these with the single cam Honda lump in it, had it since new.L430 LAK I think.........it's locked up un his garage, rusting gently.Much better condition than all of his by the looks

Anyone want my 216 GSi, 72,000, full MOT, scabby front arch......only £995 to you, squire...

Posted

Hey mb it has one less camshaft, it's worthless. What an optimist,I wouldn't mind a 220GTi mind you, the M/T-series is a great engine - lusty, rugged and quite economical.
