The split-screen Daimler hearse is a real beauty. Hope it survives - possibly a straight 8. Lovely.

Absolutely fantastic, Trigger, thanks for posting.....

Rolls-Royce CD1 was the Mayoral car for Brighton, ABC1 was the one for Leicester.

for me though it is all the background stuff that wins!

I might as well chuck up the commercial stuff, seeing as i'm in front of the PC for a change. I think most of it is in Brighton?.

Atkinson sure knew how to make a decent looking lorry, right? Brilliant stuff, that LAD cabbed Leyland wrecker looks tough as nails!

Absolutely amazing stuff. Thanks for these, Trig.

Is the fifth photo above an Armstrong Siddeley ambulance? (edit, fifth up in the previous batch)

Who thought having a mental hospital livery was a good idea on a tipper waggon? Gr9 pics trig.

Nice view of a Datsun 100A in the background of one of those shots.

I also like the Willhire A-Series very much.

I can't believe that RHD Taunus wagon. Never knew such a thing existed!!! Amazing pics Trig.

Great photos, some of those reg plates still show as belonging to the cars in the photo's, one or two no grace something different.  1YWC is no on a Merc and 1AAH is now on a Disco

These are beyond brilliant.

The cars in the background...

A brown Series 1 Beta behind that tatty Mk10.

A brand new Fiat 131 and 128 3P, early BMW 520s and Saab 99 Combi for sale

Fantastic!

Such a pity more old lorries were not saved. The old Fodens and ERF's really are things of beauty. A mid sixties Foden tipper truck would do me nicely for Sheffield traffic wankers.

A two stroke Foden engine sounds immense.

Bracebridge Mental Hospital was in Lincoln. Called 'St John's'. The wagon has a Lincolnshire registration (TL) too...

The other Lincolnshire registered wagon (this time FW) Osgerby's coal & coke...Osgerby's haulage were based in Barton on Humber and ran a predominantly Volvo fleet from what I recall.

Quite a lot of the Leyland Beavers in preservation started life as mobile chest x-ray units. Low mileage and long service lives ensured survival. Tuberculosis was the main reason for their existence. The good old days, eh??

Citroen Bijou...interesting old thing...guess it was just an old hack then...

Anybody know what the pick-up is in the background of the Mustang pic. It was the first thing I noticed. (Mustangs are Meh...)

At first I thought Mini, but going by the wheels/hubcaps/rear lights I’d say DAF. Plus it appears to be at the back of a DAF dealer stand, going by the flag at top left.

I love the mustard Daimler Sovereign parked across two bays on the previous page, just shows parking like a tw@t to keep the oiks away is not a new thing!

Superb Trig, keep 'em coming. Who ever took them had an eye for the commercial stuff like me, AEC first then Atkinson then the rest. Love the B&W of the Ipswich trolleybuses, must have been the last few days?.

Are the funny little vans with the single headlights electric?

I love the  blue ‘Dorothea Restoration Engineers’ one, particularly with the bored looking apprentice in the passenger seat - I say seat, it was probably a milk crate.

He looks like he’s regretting not working harder at school!
