Sold 1996 Volvo 850 estate 2 litre auto for sale £350

Hi all.

 

I'm selling my 1996 Volvo 850 estate. Just passed it's MOT with 1 advisory for greased brake pipes, drives really well, starts first time, good tyres and exhaust etc.

 

Giffer owned, so has a few giffer features such as a block of wood to hold the boot open and a drawer string to hold the glove box shut, various giffer scuffs on the body too.

 

Generally it's in pretty good shape, it looks smart, the interior is in good condition etc

 

Bad points,

 

Crack in screen on passenger side (not mentioned at MOT)

A bit of rust in the screen surround

Front floor wells fill with water, from I think the sunroof drains, can be fixed fairly easily or just tape the roof shut.

Radio doesn't work

Some rust on drivers front wing.

That is thoroughly bloody decent and surely one of the last Volvos with 'chairs' rather than seats.

This 850 is a bargain, the price of them are slowly increasing, and for sub £500 ... just cant go wrong.

I'd have a crack at that, except for not having my licence at the moment, oh and having agreed to buy something else the moment it does come back.  GLWTS though, it looks like a very handy tool.

That's the kind of thing my Owd Giffer would do, except with string and proper sailing knots!

The glovebox repair is TADTS, mine has a hole in the same place. Something like the lock jams shut and you have to drill them open (a similar thing happens to 740s). Mine seems to have had a replacement catch though as it shuts, and came with a spare glovebox shell(?).

 

Nice car and a bloody bargain for £350. Worst case it'd break well, having a spoiler and Columba wheels (standard on T5s, option otherwise).

 

Front wings rotting is also TADTS, they're a dirt trap as there's a hole in the arch between the bumper and end of the wing. 

Slight PITA to deal with as the arch liner is riveted in place, but once it's out of the way it's not so bad.
