If going the hose/jubilee clip method, make sure you flare the ends of the pipes to give the clips something to purchase on, PAS is high pressure and they will blow off without a flare. Voice of experience with the Holden!

Some of DW’s cheap buys are canny bargains, others are End of Life vehicles. I suspect this is one of the latter. It’s sold though, so maybe I’ll be proved wrong!!

Not exactly profit material though! The Skoda was a better buy. And sell.

Should have kept the Rover.........runs for cover

A Be National, because life's complicated enough

Less excitement though

That should be low pressure side I would have thought - the Isaac Hunt tried and tested chewing gum to stem the flow, degrease, sand down, and slap some JB Weld or Araldite on for the win*

(Well it nearly worked on the Rover 620, but seems I missed another hole - I did go from pissing PS fluid and no power steering to tiny MOT-failworthy drip and the return of power steering).

On the plus side DW you got to see Southport.

Yeah. Great place. To leave.

Says the bloke from Formby (cheap end)

Judging by the way it's spraying out all over the place, I would say it is not...

And today, dangerously close to Blackpool. The glamour!

Oh, on a clear day you can see Blackpool, and a few less geographically aware people have attempted to walk across. I mean it's only maybe 10 miles to Lythum st Anne's.

Only problem is the River Ribble. 45 miles by Road, via Preston.

So close and yet so far.

It is the return pipe from rack to pump so it's low pressure compared to the pump to rack plumbing.

Very bodgeable in an emergency.

I'm not going to make any smug remarks along the lines of shouldn't have sold the Favorit, honest. Don't even have power steering pipes.

Just started watching the Myrtle vid, and as you mentioned the Mazda - I'm considering 'deleting' (very MX5 term) the PAS cooler by connecting the two pipes shown with a red line in this parts diagram. I'm guessing that would work for you? Just need to work out how to connect the two pipes to prevent leaks...

Though I guess no PAS cooler on a track day could be an issue!

You can just use plumbing copper pipe to join them or anything the right size plus jubilee clips.

Ah, yes you've done this yourself when you were Mr Moog on your thread?

Yep. Just 15mm copper and bend it or stick 90 degrees bends on it. Then Jubilee clips and jobs a goodun.

If you're selling a car, the best thing to do is kick the front bumper off, then thrash it around Silverstone.

Job done. The Mazda has left the driveway. I hope to catch up with it later this month. It'll look quite different...
