It actually looks like he took that picture in Spain in 1978 with a 1942 camera. Then, when the picture developed, he pissed on it after drinking 18 gallons of Lucozade and left it in the sun for several months.

Generally good condition for the year

1986 must not have been a good year.

Shitting Nora, check out the Fiat 238e camper in the background of that CX shot.

Edited to add:  Just realise they both belong to Pocket_Calculator, occasionally of this parish.

Note to self - win lottery and buy this

Which the CX or the Fiat camper? I'm having both if my numbers come up first.

thanks for that, as you may have guessed, i am a bit of a “mongtard“ on computers

Not at all - it wasn't a cheeky reference to your lack of an avatar, but rather the fact that those two little PlayMobil people appear to be proffering lumps of cheese for each others olfactory delectation. Welcome aboard anyhoo (and your new avatar is smashing!).

Hmm. Alfasud's are lovely and all, but they do rust a fair bit. But hold on, what's this?

Alfa Sud Sprint Veloce Restoration project

Sounds promising:

I have completely restored the body work and panels are painted and rusted free

Great.  Let's see it then ...

alfa1.jpg

Hmm. White. Not my choice of colour, but it's fine. I notice it looks like the plastic box in the car has been sprayed too. I hope there isn't too much overspray?

alfawheel.jpg

That wheel isn't supposed to be white, is it? But you masked off the important bits (as opposed to the bits that it will be hard to get the paint off)? You've not painted the indicator stalks or the engine or anything have you?

alfainterior.jpg

alfaengine.jpg

Ah. Now might be a good time to ask about the engine I suppose.

The Engine has been replaced

Excellent. How does it run?

does not run currently but was running over a year ago when replaced.

I'm not surprised. Have you still got the glass?

I have stored replacement Glass although the wind screen unfortunately did not survive

You've taken care if it during the restoration I can tell.

Anything else I should know?

there is plenty of spares and parts for the vehicle

alfaparts.jpg

So there are.

3 bids. £621 currently - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alfa-Sud-Sprint-Veloce-Restoration-project-/251393018964?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3a88310c54

Yup, it does, if you want to look like some sort of drug dealing pimp.

Or some form of universal serial bus merchant with a taste for looking like a twat

Leaning to one side a bit and starting to look a bit rough, but probably fine once you're inside. ATCNBE. (I've gone too far there haven't I?)

Actually, have you seen inside it? It's more maroon than you'd imagine to be sensible.

Wood and leather in a Maestro though. That is lovely.

But you want to see Fiesta 2, the one that's only done 11,500 miles don't you? Unfortunately it did 11,500 miles driven by someone who was double incontinent.

fiesta3.jpg

Still, the vendor sounds approachable.  Currently at £460 with 19 bids.

That Maestro is excellent!

Yes it does have the small amount of body marks which you would expect from a car that has driven on both Russian and Albanian road

Are you feeling better Reg, your tat hunting skillz have lost nothing in your chundering exploits

I'd be amazed if it's FWD. Quite apart from its age, the front axle is quite a way forward of everything else.

Its mega that innit. I'm sure those cost grands rather than hundreds normally.

How is that 405 so cheap?  It looks bloody lovely does that.
