Years and years ago, when I was looking for alternatives to Mantas so about 2008ish, there was an MA61 Celica Supra like this but it was brown with mahogany bodykit (factory colours), beige interior and auto-box. Thing looked immaculate and was something like £2500. I hated it - now it sounds like the greatest thing imaginable.

if this is everything it appears to be, given the monumental price rises of other 1980s icons, then this seems like VFM.

edit: Maroon/Mahogany apparently, paint code 2P4

Pretty sure this was on Cars and Classics a few weeks back, sold for 1500 quid immediately since it looked super clean and low mileage. Turns out it's pretty rotten 😞 Best color for it, too.

According to the highly* detailed, well* written advert it has 60hp and 3 doors, too.

Is that most of a Mazda 3 interior?

Phun phact:

It's a Healy Engima - not a Healey Enigma.

I'm assuming the diffent spelling is because somebody still owns the rights to the Healey name when applied to motor vehicles.

Probably - makes you think what's the point especially at 16K.

Bloody hell that is rotten!!!

American cars never seem to have been rustproofed very well. All the ones I’ve ever had have certainly rusted for fun.

They really did have a knack for rusting. It was so bad that GM had to recall their G-body platform (I can't remember when, either late 90s or early 00s) because vehicles were rotting through in the rear end, conveniently right by the tank and subframe mounts. I recently helped a friend prepare a 2003 LeSabre for a demolition derby and I was able to stick my foot through the wheelarches and boot floor with no issue. It's definitely a "front end only" car.

To be fair, this is the worst one I've seen. My DeVille is the same platform and doesn't have these issues at all. Which means the STS was either abandoned in a field or salt water puddle.

I went on a business trip to Minnesota once. That was an eye opener, they must heavily salt the roads and have little in the way of vehicle inspection. I saw plenty of cars with no door bottoms and fist size rust holes in the sills. Enough to give a UK MOT tester a conniption

“I do have the original wheels which go  with the car.”

well that’s a bloody relief.

There are no inspections to speak of. I've been overtaken by a few pickups with snapped frames and Chrysler people carriers with deleted floors, sills, wheelarches and tailgates. I love the fact I can drive my truck until the wheels fall off but I also hate the fact I can drive my truck until the wheels fall off.

Christ! Of all places...and on an Aberdeenshire reg to boot! I'll be very surprised if that's not the Fraserburgh Classic car show next month! 😃

"The car's mileage can be traced all the way back to its very first MoT in 1985 and is therefore sitting at 113,000. But it's a very sharp looking example. And, after all, 113,000 miles divided by its 43-year-old life thus far works out at just under 2,700 miles a year. In many ways, I prefer that kind of usage to a classic with say 60 or 70k on the clock that has spent too many years in storage"

1992 Vauxhall Carlton "Plaza" 2.0 rocking a set of Omega B "Select" wheel trims. Replaced the L spec I assume towards the end of production. "Keep fit" windows but it has velour seats for the win!
