Interesting MR2 as it's had the latter Celica 1.8 vvtli/190hp engine inserted. I've always been surprised that engine didn't find its way into more resto-mods.

I secretly fancied putting one into a 1.8 Carina E but I suspect the nature of the car wouldn't gell with 8000 rpm....

(The reg plate alludes to the original 1.6 engine, 4AGE)

Early SW20 MR2. This is a good example of one of the perils of buying a Toyota mid 90s Coupe - it's a 2.0 16v but not the 150hp or 170hp engines but the 120hp economy tuned FE.

Same engine as in my Corona EXiV.

Anyway, what about a 57k mile OAP owned Top spec Velsatis with the 3.5 V6 in a rare color? Just failed it's mot spectacularly after only standing for about a year. He might take 1000 if you are quick. Just goes to show how relatively well sorted mine was at almost twice the mileage.

Naturally the electronic parking brake gave up as well. A lot of the electrics might come back from just using it though.

Love that. The VVTLi 190 is one hell of an engine. 7k for a solid mk1 with a rebuilt motor seems pretty reasonable. Would if I could justify it currently.

Another "Essex" 3.8 V6 Mustang, this time in a much less interesting colour combination. Pondering these as an ownership prospect as a fun summer car. DIY maintenance probably not too bad being a pushrod v6 and I imagine parts supply is good if you can wait for shipping. Big for the UK though, and I've never tried LHD. Years ago I measured up my rented garage for a late 80s Camaro (Same shape as the Top Gear Car)- it was cms either side lol.

Do they shit their big ends like my 140 did?

Bit of filler'll sort that, M8.

'HPI & DVLA records show original registration RJ 28 still assigned to car'

Not a chance that plate will transfer off it, though. Unless someone finds another Model A and accidentally* switches the VIN.

They're a completely different beast. They were developed by Yamaha - the block is Yammy stamped, too. The 140s were flawed until Toyota finally sorted their shit out towards the end of the run in 2005/6.
