Yep, folks want the 24v but my retired Vauxhall workshop manager neighbour, told me the 2.6 was the best engine in these. Dual ram and not far off the 3.0 12v performance wise, but without the issues regularly encountered with the 24v. He reckons he never had any serious issues with the 2.6 and they just kept going.

Poor on fuel though compared to the 12v and 24v, I put 360,000 miles on my 24v without any issues

I’ve always thought it pretty good on fuel tbh but I think his experience was mainly cop cars idling for ages and then rapidly going full tilt in pursuit, which the 24v didn’t like, according to him.

Yeah that's on the watchlist. Not one that's known to me and a really nice spec, un-messed with. It definitely needs to be MoT'd before the number can be taken off, though, so might be an interesting conversation with the vendor for whoever wins it (unlikely to be me, sadly)
