1961 SMOOTH ROOF MAGIC WAND MORRIS MINI VAN 850cc | eBay

Early Mini van in what is a very nice part of the world.

'magic wand gearstick'

If you drive one of these a few times you'll wish that magic wand would work so you could make the fucking thing disappear.

Never even knew these were a thing, wonder what the range is like?

Seems it is about 85 miles, so compared to one of @Kiltox 's bargain Leafs, this is very expensive.

van 4 life. For those living outside areas where they are expected to fund the privatised public transport services.

Ah, somethings changed and the way i've learnt to post links doesn't work anymore. Shall leave the rest till I find another way. This may take some time.

They were grand. Went well drove nice. Biblically loud but weren't all vans at one time. At 43 now I was lucky to catch the tale end of proper works vans. Had a couple of these and more than a few convoys with the same mill. Good times 👍

I'm helping a young lad at work do bits and bats to one he has recently acquired. Wouldn't touch one with yours if I'm being honest. Hateful things.

Edit. Would love one, just don't have the stones 😄

I worked for a chap who had one of these. He had plenty of dosh and several Ferrari for years. When I asked why he’d now got a Lexus and where the Ferrari was he said he was fed up with the Ferrari always being at the garage for something they never fixed properly, he thought the Porsche dealer was a wanker and this was as much fun and never had an issue. I’m now wishing I had time and room to take a punt on it for the summer. It’s ULEZ and tax isn’t too eye watering for what might be cheap motoring

'lovely place to be'

Mate, it's a fucking 1998 Ford Escort.  Sitting in Tiananmen Square a year later wearing a T-shirt with a photo of Li Peng's missus in the knack and handing out anti-communism leaflets was a better place to be.

How miserable do you have to be, to only do 36k in something so exquisite as that in 29 years.

I'd be finding an excuse to go and waft.

I'm sure a manual 3.0 omega would be orrible in comparison.

Even if you prefer manuals, it's worth trying a 3.0 auto Omega. They don't half shift along and are a lovely car to drive.

Even though the back seems to be made of the thinnest shit chequer plate and bits of discarded garden decking, it'll still be the slowest thing on earth and require 4 people 8 hours to change gear.

I already have the Senator with an auto so I think this more agile Omega would do well with the extra mpgs and better pace of a manual.

Another 'big money' MK4. Messing with my head this one though, as looks like it's the basic (i.e not even an 'L') 1.3 but surely the  BVR and the black panel aren't standard and it's got the wrong wheels?
