3-speed box.

Exceptionnel = 'very low'.

Montagne -Ville = '2/3rd' hilly and town use.

Route = '4th' on the open road

AR = arrete (reverse).

Never seen that on a French car before how interesting.

You are right - I think that explains it - it's one of those automatic clutch  gearchange boxes.

I think it was manufactured by Ferodo (France).

Oddly enough, just been watching 'Dinosaurs With David Attenborough' and they unearthed a Tyrannosaurus Rex limb.
