This sold for £4K - seems a hell of a lot for a CX with no test since 2011, clean as it is....

Someone wanted it badly enough. Wasn't me. TRS 22 means PSA/Douvrin J6T engine with carburettor and cambelt - sort of "back to basics" for the CX range.

Has the roof been photoshopped off that Metro, or did they do a pick up?

there are several factory built metro pick up trucks, which were design concepts, and a whole series of home brewed ones.

that one was for sale on ebay either last year or the year before, it wasn't cheap and was a home brewed up pick up. though it was quiet well done, it was a mix of mark one panel work, with mark 2 bumpers and dash board with mg seats.

i'm glad to see its still around!

if the advert is correct, this must be one of, if not the best marina's left in the world.

i can see that if i do manage to move the mini 1000 on that i may do something very foolish, like buy a Morris Marina.........

1972 Morris Marina 1.3 Deluxe Saloon For Sale (picture 1 of 6)

...... cos i'm an idiot

Better move before Grand Tour / Top Gear buy it in order to drop a grand piano on.

Fucking wars, that's still tested too. Not for long mind and would probably bankrupt several large nations trying to get it through the next one.

I had one. Ok. The problems for me were the sheer size and weight for working on it, the complex brake and rear suspension set up - and the single figure fuel consumption. With a simpler brake suspension set up they would be worth more IMHO. So in the end its cost. And they really don't like being parked up for occasional use.  But it's an itch I scratched - but wouldn't again as it turned into a nasty scab and left a scar.

I think this is the thing with a Hillman Imp engine - they go very well and can be hotted to a crazy degree - which is probably the angle you will end up in it at some point.

Fiesta-face Robin on an E reg? Plus the plate feels very familiar, I just can’t put my finger on why.

I doubt that it is it’s real plate as that generation of Robin started on a G plate (plus it is quite clearly red!)

I have absolutely no idea why I remembered the AS BX reg number, as it really is before my time here.

A 5TL was the fiirst brand new car I bought (82 on X suffix). I'd actually love one now but at the time I didn't appreciate it. The first Mrs BN had an accident in it when a van drove into her while parked. She took it with her as part of her half* when we went our seperate ways.

Same here.....except I had my 1979 TL (FPF 978V) in 1990.

It is this car which allows me to speak quietly about the time "I used to have a mid-engined car"?.

I seem to recall it having loads of room inside...... maybe* I was less chubby back then.

I might got and look at this tomorrow. Mot exempt and not mot since 2016, which is always a bit worry.

It has Rover 75 seats fitted. They don't look so bad in the front, not so great in the back, Not sure why this has been done as the seats in a p6 are mega.

Please don't.

If you do, please replace the seats immediately. That looks properly fucky.

I'd replace the rears with 2 recaro buckets from a Corsa VXR

That car listed belongs to PPC mag owner, Kev. It’s bloody lovely but like most PPC cars I wonder why he doesn’t just fix it before selling it. Needs a clutch, he says, but what else?

Lovely thing, mind.
