In the late eighties, a family friend (who always smelled of Poison), had one the spit of this. My abiding memory is that the starter motor on it was fucked, so being a resourceful sort, she'd always reverse onto the drive when she got home so she could coast out facing the right way to bump start it down the street. Except for when she ran out of street and just kept going onto the main road through the estate and hoped nobody was there when she got there. She never spent money on a car unless she had to.
