2.9 with tweed. Misery

2.9 XJ 40s are important and interesting Jaguars because they are the last Jaguars with one camshaft. Which is of course the correct number of camshafts, any fewer won't work. post-17481-0-83199500-1536605542_thumb.jpeg

I think this looks pretty cool:

1 OF 9 IN UK, WE HAVE 3

Key points:

TURBO

DUMP

BLEMISHES

What is the gauge?

And reading the ad leaves me wondering if it was actually a Turbo version and not a conversion.

Tried this one and gave up after the owner went cold. Ha ha. It has had a near full restoration from being in a house clearance shop to having nearly everything.

£3750 for a Riva needing a pair of wings and other bodywork issues? Has 2107 spec bumpers, when it's a 2105. Wings that are available are piss poor, and rust very quickly, the last of the line 2107s were made from a much lower grade steel aas well, worth maybe £1995 at a push

I did e-mail him asking what he did. He gave it 2107 bumpers because he wanted them. The 2105 ones were nackered apparently. Structurally it is sound. The wings are the only issue... apparently. He stopped replying when I said yes to underside pictures but when I asked first time round he assured me it was fine. I questioned him about the no nasty bodywork and he said there isn't and it passed MoT with flying colours, no advisories.

I'm pretty sure he wants his money because of what he did to the engine. He said to me he's selling it at a loss.

Looks like they've done the right thing by painting out 'that' badge on the grille and refusing to mention the 'I' word on the advert.

'im new to ebay.but im an honest guy .no bids from zero feedback without contacting me first'

Someone should message him and say that because he's new to eBay, he has to contact them before they'll bid on it. That'd learn him.

'Next door actually thinks it’s real'

Which leads me to consider a couple of things. Either next door haven't seen the urn containing your nan's ashes in the back...

s-l1600.jpg

..or spotted the fact that Ferrari didn't ask their 13 year old YTS lad to get his WarHammer paint out and colour in the dashboard when he was pissed...

...or this is actually next door...
