eBay tat volume 3.

As pretty as this is, it's a completely standard late 2.0 SL, being sold by a specialist* for all the money with no MOT and added custom bollocks, which Arthur Daley would have been embarrassed to spout.

Verdict: Cunt.

When I was a boy I thought this edition was the bomb, being two-tone and still on carbs

Not exactly povvo though were they, Alfetta did have a spec range (and pricing) a Cortina man would struggle to get near.  2000 SL was AlfaGB-only 1982 'special' derived from the L, adding four-headlamp QO grille & lights, two-tone silver / brown metallic paint, gold-painted alloy wheels (not on this one though), front and rear spoiler, still got the formica 'wood' dash inserts, resin 'wood' wheel and knob, but also front and rear electric windows and central locking, all repeatedly blowing fuses.

I sold the tired and wobbed Alfa 6 auto for half that six years ago, so it must be worth that sort of money today.  There are only 9 left registered, and only 1 of those is taxed.  I bet this one goes over the water anyhow, no point in putting it in for MOT as collectors won't be driving the thing home.  The transfers can be steamed-off.  Probably.

It's now on 'bay for £3995.  Will see, now that lowlier Alfasuds are standing at £8k

Hagerty's valuation goes:  Fair £3600, Good £4600, Exc £6100

Cortina 2000 Ghias are 20% higher across the board

That's bloody lovely! Only in Edinburgh too!

Bit salty, mind. Are 306s really worth so much now?

Yes past year or so there's been a lift in interest.  Mate now has three.  I read some 'millenials' have been stating the GTi-6 is the 90s hot hatch to buy

Perhaps being an SR it could be knocked to £750 and it can go straight onto classic policy after all.  £750 for low insurers is nothing these days

Do he's selling his car which he had yet to register in the UK but he has got the nova? So not he pride and joy? Not a reluctant sale after years of fastidious ownership?

So the real reason he is selling it without registering it in the UK?

is it fucked you think?

trust nobody.

It needs an MOT to go through the V55/5 registration process to get a plate/V5. It's probably fucked underneath with no hope of passing....

Maybe he bought it hoping it was exempt.....
