Here's another Mk3 Transit with what Billy would call the "wrong" engine.  I would beg to differ - my first ever big van was almost identical to this (except sans windows) and that would roll along at 90 - try that in an early DI.

I love how he can't spell "Kubota" even though it's written in fugging 4" high letters down the side of the tractor.

The GGG has been puzzled by this car when drooling all over it at Lake View Garage.

The fact of it having been at Lake View Garage is a guarantee that it is good.

So what do we have here?

A Series 2 P6 that has been festooned with Series 1 bits, including 1970 only rear door frames sans opening quarter lights?

Or a 1970 Series 1 P6 that has been festooned with Series 2 bits?

1973 Reg doesn't help to clarify matters.

Only the chassis number could tell. Or not.

However, there is this:

Plus, it is equipped with extremely htf NADA bits, such as electric windows and aircon.

My advice is to toss all your inhibitions towards originality and customise it to your heart's desire.

He said he'd take £275 for it. Chester or Wrexham somewhere.

These are hovering around the outer edges of my radar lately, a bit modern really but they're pretty and seem to be quality items in general.  This seems absurdly cheap, too.  I am however confused by BMW model desginations, a colleague owns a near-identical 520 which is apparently a 2.3.  So who knows what a 523 is, or what this one is.

That one is a MEGBARG. I'm quite tempted as E39s have very much been on my radar lately. However, the ABS light is worrying. Could just be a ring / sensor though. Apparently if you get the 'holy trinity' of ABS, Stability and Traction lights on, it's a control module that costs £££ to replace.

The 523i is pre-facelift and has a 2.5 straight 6 making 170hp. The other pre-facelift engine is the 528i, which is a 2.8 making 190hp.

520i is post-facelift, so will have a 2.2 straight 6 making 170hp. The other facelift engine is the 525i, which is a 2.5 making 190hp.

The 530i was, I think, only post-facelift and it made 230hp from a 3.0.

Clear as mud, eh?

That's just the straight 6 engines. There were 2 V8s too, the 535i and the 540i...

2002 was it's Heyday chief!

Never mind the Ka, what's that on the left in the background!? Orion?

Edit def not Orion, Honda maybe?

It does look rather familiar, guessing that's been in Max Power/Barry Boys before. Looks too big to be an Accord, Nissan Cedric or Gloria maybe?

There's only one picture but it's enough. Fair play though, when most peoples old sheds get blown over by the wind they take the wood to the dump. This guy built a car out of it.

Pity he didn't keep some of the old potting plants and daffodil seed laid out on the back.

I like Ka's but that purple thing is just distressing.

if only scrap was at such a price that I could afford to collect that with a hiab. But i suspect it is in the right place already from the pics

'Bought this mini approx. 8 yrs ago with the intention of restoring it to its former glory'

The best way to 'restore' that is a box of matches and a gallon of unleaded.
