I remember that it just about broke your neck on every gear change and had that stupid micro knob for going into reverse.

It took them ages to put a proper auto box in it as well.

Don't, I had one when I was 17, they are truly truly awful. Now I like awful cars as much as the next shiter but they were so awful they weren't even funnily awful. It was as though they were designed by someone who had lost the will to live and this was a cry for help. They are one of only three cars I would not accept for free.

Same reason every cat lover thinks everyone love cats I guess.  Can't be arsed with pets - have enough needy and expensive cars without animals too.
