These fat arse Megane's are starting to look like good value for money. This one's 600 quid and the windows don't work.

I'm not sure they're value for money, a neighbour has one and it's had alarm / immobiliser issues as well as frequent visits to the dealer for other stuff. I don't enquire too much because my ancient Pug 205 is bringing down the tone of the whole neighbourhood so talking about cars around here is out.

However if you've just come down from a Laguna or Safranne so looking for better mpg but you don't want to throw away the knowledge about bus routes to the dealer and how the service manager's wife is doing, this could be ideal.

Something about that Rover doesn't sit right for me, missing rear badge, colour coded rear panel and 16v badge, big exhaust, missing wheel trims, K&N sticker, I'm not convinced by the 7000 miles.

Does look a bit ruined. Anyone looking for a low-mileage Rover 400 (well, you never know...) is going to be utterly turned off by that one. No mention of any service history to back it up.

Shame as it's probably still a nice motor! My dad's 414 was the first car I did 100mph in. Bloody terrifying as the steering was horrifically light at that speed.

That Rover is well sus... Steering wheel is shiny as fook around the "10-2" position... Badges missing, rattle canned tailgate panel... Easy to hoover a car out and run a no.3 clipper over the carpet to tart it up...

Not convinced. £500 for a 50k R400 Saloon isn't bad though, I'd worry that it's a well used and abused example, especially with that tail pipe.

That Daimler is HOT. I would love one like that one day. I can't believe no-one has made him a decent offer yet.

You know what I'm such a fapper and was so dazzled by the green paint I didn't even notice it was Daimler.

+1

Something about all the mods makes the 7000 miles seem highly dubious....or maybe its a formerly shed-bound giffer-mobile thats been gived to someone to young to drive who contented themselves with Halfords mods

'This is quite a unique looking Clio with the chrome around the registration plate as well as the rear spoiler, it also has lexus lights.'

Robert Hughes, Time Magazine, 1999:

'Rarer than the much sought after, nay elusive, 'Salisbury Cathedral from Bashing the Bishop in the Grounds as Two Boys Were Fisting' by Constable, Clio' was an intruiging piece, Renault's fines hour some said. Bollocks it was. Mobilised excretia, effort consuming, big pile of wank more like. But check out those Lexus lights, this artist clearly has a talent. Probably for wheelspinning outside junior schools on a sink estate'

Agree with every1 on that dodgy Rover.

And also agree that green XJ6 is hotter than the sun. If it wasn't the opposite end of the UK to me, I'd be giving that serious consideration, despite the fact my garage is almost certainly a good few inches too small for it.

That Taunus is well fit. Two tone battle ship grey is a combo I've never seen before (not just on on Taunus on any car).

So Phaeton's are getting down towards my sort of price range, not quite there yet ... I definitely would.

I know they're big and quite heavy, but I just checked the specs on the Autotrader ad

Gross vehicle weight 2640 kg

:shock::shock::shock:
