eBay tat volume 3.

Pity the deceased old fella that originally built this over 25 years ago. This was eBayed originally a decade ago and made around 4 grand. It's been repainted and passed around the trade like a ping pong ball. I'd at least expect them to fit the correct rear lamps and grille provided for nearly 40k!

The listing for that 'Miura' is so full of hyperbolic bullshit it's unreal.

When making a replica of a car, is it not customary to place the engine in roughly the same place as in the original?

I suppose, if you must put a Granada V6 in the wrong end of a Miura, you may as well go the whole hog and use a 2.3 litre.

Verdict: Inadequate.

I did my Direct Access on one of these, I'm sure it had about 40,000 miles on it and other than the instructor bending the mirrors and brake pedal back into shape every few days it just ran and ran.

Probably a bit slow for my tastes now, but nice to see one that's not utterly knackered.

I was watching that till it went North of £400 - I might look at it again before it ends.

Used to have one  - ex riding school ones all seem to have engine crash bars which this one doesnt thankfully - and it was a pleasant plodding beast.

Now that McDonald's car park dwellers have largely chewed them up and spat them out, and numbers are beginning to thin, I reckon the humble Saxo is overdue rehabilitation and re-entry into decent society. Just £200 will get you this early one, with the later 1.5 TUD rather than the temperamental 1.4. Fit a Bosch pump (if not already fitted), run it on waste takeaway fluids and rejoice at the stinginess of it all.

Whilst on the subject of immaculate small cars, I'd give this a home any day of the week.  They're so crude and basic compared to what else was available at the time but full of character.

+1,000. The very last of the interesting or worthwhile Fiestas, everything after this was horrible.

Bit late....

That tundra allegro was mine.

Thought so - I did mention it at the time, I must be on a lot of people's "hide" lists...
