Prices are on the up but perhaps a tad over priced. used to pick reasonable ones for a few hundred but those days are long gone. The 16v N/A is still a good engine  -  suits the car well (130bhp)  and much better for the transmission! Possibly better day to day due to higher compression and no lag...
