NOT AS RUSTY AS IT LOOKS
When was the last time he crawled underneath for a poke around?

Moron.

FFS that Merc is cheap. I wish I could easily drive to our place in Thailand. That would fetch six grand, no bother over there. Yes, six thousand pounds sterling.

If there wasn't all of the Middle East and Asia in the way, I'd spend my life shuttling between here and there.

Eastwards in a luxobarge, coming back in a TA22, Daihatsu Compagno or summert.

Just to remind all the watchers of which there are far too many by the way :D

This beauty finishes in just 27 hours

Shame about the Escort Ghia, but it sounds beyond economical repair, unless you have arotten Ghia with a good interior to swap bits over

Weren't they from Egypt or somewhere like that?

I've seen a few 1999-2001 W124 Mercs for sale over the last few years. They're all povvo spec (cloth seats at best & often vinyl, keep fit windows, manual boxes) and have weird jacked-up suspension to cope with the local terrain. Don't think they're German built either.

Skoda Favorit, maybe not 'rat look', more 'utter shed'. Still, it's got T+T despite the weight saving measures.

Hunter, or hunted? Needs some welding and other odds n sods, but at face value doesn't look all that bad.

After an hour or two of gorging myself on pictures of the glory days of Ingliston, this Imp might have seemed like a good idea, but somehow I doubt it is. Pity, it would just be right for a spot of hillclimbing, of a dreich weekend in the arse end of nowhere!

Simca 1501 wagon!!!! The lad with the gold one who tells everyone his is the only one left is gonna be gutted.

I remember this being up for sale about a year or so ago.

All things considered, I'd say it's beyond any redemption, especially when considering that relatively good examples change hands for surprisingly little money in France.

However, it could yield all the bits necessary to convert a French example to RHD.

Also, it does have the bootfloor = folding camping table option.
